As part of a purposeful team at Archipelago Strategies Group, Inc. (ASG), a full service marketing agency that specializes in impactful social marketing, the Community Engagement Manager will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and organization within the Community Engagement Department. Their primary responsibility will be to strategically lead the logistics of various campaigns, including outreach initiatives, events, and focus groups by directly managing Events & Activations Managers and Community Engagement Coordinators. They will oversee Community Engagement project work, ensuring that the support teams are effectively utilized, and tasks are executed efficiently. The Community Engagement Manager will provide recommendations to the Associate Director of Community Engagement regarding team operations as well as project and events operations. This roles direct reports include the Events & Activations roles and the Community Engagement Coordinator roles. This role will offer guidance and support as needed in a collective, calming, and thoughtful approach, including during active events and outreach cycles, to maintain high standards and achieve successful outcomes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement Community Engagement programing including events, outreach work, focus groups, etc. across multiple projects simultaneously
- Take the lead role in effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet agency, community, and client needs and demand to maximize the impact of programs and campaigns
- Oversee Events & Activations Managers and Community Engagement Coordinators, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the department's goals and that high standards are consistently maintained, and all timelines and planning deadlines are met with quality and efficiency
- Guide and support Managers and Coordinators to ensure effective execution and successful outcomes
- Develop training materials for Events & Activations Managers, Community Engagement Coordinators, and Brand Ambassadors/Captains
- Define, oversee, and track data to ensure that KPIs are being met, hold teams and individuals accountable in collaboration with the Associate Director of Community Engagement when KPIs not met, and do a root problem analysis and implement corrective changes in a timely manner
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships and relationships with community members, community organizations, vendors, and partners
- Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, expectation management, and prompt issue resolution with Client Accounts and other impacted service departments
- Actively participate and promote ASG in public events and engagements
- Analyze community feedback and engagement metrics to inform and improve future programming and strategies
- Support Community Engagement administrative responsibilities and strategic planning such as, but not limited to, ordering of materials
- Standardize SOPs for events and other Community Engagement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to contribute effectively to the overall success of the organization
YOUR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree and direct work experience focusing on people and Community Engagement related work including events, outreach work, and focus groups.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful project management experience for events, outreach work, and managing focus groups.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Public Administration, Community Engagement, Social Services, or related human services discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience, successfully growing and developing teams of full-time employees, in a role that is accountable for and has prior direct experience in evaluations, staff performance improvement plans, discipline, and employment status decision making.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience providing staff/team department training on processes, policies, and skill development.
- Minimum of 3 years utilizing electronic project management and budgeting software and tools.
- Capability to lead, motivate, and manage a Community Engagement team effectively.
- Excellent pre-planning, planning, workflow training and execution, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Advanced experience in Excel and Budget/Workbook Project software.
- Effective de-escalation skills when working with staff and clients.
- Customer service experience and understanding of community development principles.
- Familiarity with event planning principles.
- Ability to work with diverse client groups and handle complex event needs.
- Must have an active driver's license, ability to access a vehicle, and be able to attend Community Engagement Initiatives in person onsite during the day, evenings, or weekends.
- Must have the ability and flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially during campaign peaks, and attend all ASG meetings, Client Events, and Meetings onsite and offsite.
- Access to reliable and consistent internet.
- Bilingual preferred but not required, fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole.
