Position: Community Engagement Manager
A Day in the Life:
The Community Engagement Manager works alongside the Director of Outreach to increase the agency’s presence in the community and build relationships with individuals, groups, and companies in support of Home of the Innocents’ mission. The Community Engagement Manager will develop, implement, and manage programs and projects to increase community support for the agency.
Essential Job Functions:
- Research and implement plans for expanding Home of the Innocents’ presence in the community.
- Identify and cultivate community partnerships through ongoing research and evaluation and cultivate those prospects that best align with Home of the Innocents’ strategic priorities and mission.
- Manage all requests from private, corporate, school, church, and other organizations to attend meetings and speaking engagements.
- Identify relevant community events and oversee participation in these events.
- Attend NuLu Business Association meetings each month and engage members to the Home’s mission.
- Manage and track all online outreach activities.
- Facilitate/host quarterly Tea at the Home engaging those from the community to the Home’s mission.
- Manage and oversee all third-party events, and outreach activities and collaborate with the Communications department on the messaging of these events and activities.
- Manage, oversee, and execute all collection drives and mission moment outreach campaigns, to promote the agency and boost resources. This includes collaboration with the Donations Coordinator.
- Manage seasonal holiday program to obtain resources for those served.
- Maintain data and metrics to track Outreach efforts, assess program impact, and make informed decisions to improve future events and activities.
- Maintain all Outreach non-monetary donation records, volunteer records, and stewardship notes in Raiser’s Edge.
- Serve as an ambassador of the mission of Home of the Innocents.
- Business-focused approach and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to craft compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and impact to potential funders.
- Adept at problem solving and making decisions quickly within the scope of the position.
- Excellent time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing, communicating, and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, educational institutions, and in the community.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, however not required pending experience.
- Must have a minimum of 1-3 years’ nonprofit, outreach, marketing experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated success maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong time management, follow-through, and attention to detail capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
- May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
