The Community Relations & Outreach Manager reports directly to the Elected Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller and is an essential part of the Clerk’s leadership team. This position is the focal point for the development of the Clerk’s Office community outreach plan including numerous communication initiatives and outreach strategies designed to enrich the public’s knowledge of the Clerk’s services through:

• Relationships with the news media, print media, local associations, key influencers, community partners, and the citizens of Collier County
• Social media efforts utilizing Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms
• Dissemination of information through the Clerk’s website, educational materials, videos, print publications, newsletters, and flyers

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work towards developing and implementing a unified agency-wide communication and outreach plan.

• High-energy forward-thinking, self-starting individual with the ability to take initiative to accomplish the mission
• Ability to maintain current, and develop new, networks of press and other contacts throughout Collier County and surrounding counties
• Skilled in writing press releases, op eds and other materials including making presentations and managing social media
• Comfort with managing multiple projects without sacrificing detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in digital advertising management in search engines and/or social media platforms
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, relationship building, and organizational skills
• High level of enthusiasm for new and creative ideas and exceptional interest in the mission of the Clerk’s Office to keep moving forward in all that we do and plan to do

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field and three years of experience in overseeing public relations, outreach, or community programs with an emphasis on community relations to include social media program and website content oversight, strategic planning and budgeting, crisis communications, and thorough understanding of print and media operations.

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job may be substituted for the education and experience requirement.
