This individual will support the future vision of Nationwide Telematics personal insurance products by incrementally advancing rating sophistication towards the desired state.

The ideal candidate will have successfully supported implementation of pricing or rating elements of complex projects from concept through deployment and have enhanced the project using a minimally viable product approach to get to goal state while aligning and driving towards the targeted KPIs. Preferably, candidates will be data/mathematically driven, with professional experience within actuarial pricing, product, or a similar function.

Job Description Summary Telematics will evolve our auto product that is in market today making the work to support these initiatives critical to the long-term success of the organization. We will now have more touchpoints with our customers and implement new ways of rating to provide a customized rate. This will require us to keep our existing telematics offerings performing at expected levels, while also building new capabilities which take research, critical thinking, thought leadership and partnerships. As a Consultant, you'll develop new telematics programs and experiences and make enhancements to our existing offerings. Your work will include leading the design, development, and implementation of all aspects of the project work plans, including communication and post-delivery monitoring. Your work will focus on driving customer engagement, program growth, rating sophistication and strong financial performance. You'll have opportunities to work with many areas across and outside the organization regarding customer experiences and product and pricing features. Job Description Key Responsibilities:* Performs in-depth research and analysis to determine how to achieve strategic objectives with telematics capabilities. Provides thought leadership and insights regarding strategic priorities and goals. Proactively identifies program opportunities. * Leads new telematics initiatives. Provides leadership to all functional areas related to program design and management. Makes recommendations based on in-depth functional knowledge and drives continuous improvement as necessary to maximize effectiveness. Develops and drives key initiatives related to growth, expense reduction and profitability. Coordinates the rate review, filing and communication process for recommended implementations. Initiates action plans to improve and/or maintain product performance. * Develops and implements strategic telematics capabilities. Reviews pricing, design features and associated processes. Partners with areas across the organization to ensure a seamless customer journey. Executes against a defined strategy with an MVP mindset to ensure we can learn and iterate as we gain market experience * Develops and controls timelines, including regularly re-assessing risks, throughout project life. Revises project plans on an ongoing basis to maintain alignment with other projects and/or business strategy. Leads the coordination, development, and implementation of new product communication. * Responsible for distinguishing, developing relationships with, guiding, and managing external partners. Focus will be to ensure program execution with tight expense management, while also identifying future partnership opportunities. * Proactively seeks out opportunities to interact with other business partners while developing cross functional knowledge in claims, sales, marketing, pricing, operations, underwriting and finance.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships: Typically reports to Director, Telematics - PL. This is an individual contributor role. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate studies in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, product management, finance, business administration or related field. Graduate studies in related areas preferred. License/Certification/Designation: Insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ACAS, ARM, FLMI, NASD, Project Management Certification preferred. Experience: Typically, six years of experience in personal/commercial lines insurance, telematics, analytical or business professional work and corporate innovation or digital. Project leadership experience, including facilitation, resolution, delegation and mentoring preferred. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance product, telematics, development of new products and performance measurements. Knowledge of related pricing, distribution and quoting platforms, system knowledge and digital capabilities. Outstanding project management skills such as organization and planning, interaction, leadership, and motivational techniques. Strong negotiation skills and data quality/integrity problem solving skills. Structures problems and makes sound recommendations. Uses business knowledge and technical, analytical skills to support team and resolve issues. Takes ownership of developing solutions. High quality of work supported by fact-based analysis. Natural curiosity about customers and can work well with ambiguity. Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills. Ability to act as a change agent and align teams on new insights and ways of working. Conveys messages effectively to all audiences using creative approaches. Ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations, as well as analyze the results. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
