As VP, Content Designer, you will shape digital products by creating user-centered content that simplifies complex financial concepts while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Position overview
As a VP, Content Designer, you’ll play a strategic role in shaping our digital products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess product requirements, iterate on designs, and ensure alignment with business goals and user needs. Focus on crafting user-centered content that simplifies complex industry jargon and regulations, enabling clients to understand and manage their finances.
In this role, you’ll lead content design for a high-profile, client-facing program. While primarily an individual contributor, you will mentor junior team members and guide designers in content standards and best practices. Our team is expanding, making it an exciting time to join and help build our practice.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, researchers, product, and engineering teams to develop and enhance digital products for clients.
- Develop content strategies across various product verticals to ensure consistency and alignment with user needs and business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to advocate for user-centered content design and secure support for content initiatives.
- Understand the complexities of localizing content for a global audience.
- Establish, document, and enforce content standards and best practices to ensure clarity, accuracy, accessibility and user engagement.
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in content design and financial services and share relevant insights with the team.
- Use research and data insights to guide content design decisions.
- Ensure all content complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to seamlessly integrate content design with other aspects of product development.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 6+ years of experience in digital content creation, with a focus on UX writing, content design, and copywriting, including leadership roles in managing large-scale content projects.
- A bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Design, Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Proven excellence in writing, editing, and communication skills, with a strategic approach and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Figma and other design tools with a track record of integrating these tools into content initiatives.
- Experience with accessibility, inclusive design, and localization, demonstrating a commitment to creating content that meets diverse user needs globally.
- Strong ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for fostering stakeholder relationships and navigating dynamics of a large team
- A strong understanding of the financial services and the investments industry, or the ability to learn and master this area.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- An online portfolio demonstrating content design experience (please include any passwords if password protected)
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
