Seeking a creative Content Marketing Associate to enhance community engagement through strategic storytelling and impactful content for the Community Youth Center of San Francisco.
The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) provides the youth of our city a
sense of belonging and vital tools and experiences to succeed in life. Our services
include academic support and college counseling, job placement and employment
training, substance use and violence prevention education, crisis intervention and
mediation, leadership development, technology and computer training. Our mission
is to encourage a diverse population of high-need young people to explore their full
potential through academic, career, family, and community life.
Title: Content Marketing Associate
Salary: $30.25 - $31.25 per hour with benefits
Reports to: Director of Development
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Community Youth Center of San Francisco is seeking a creative and driven Content
Marketing Associate to help amplify the voice of our nonprofit through impactful
storytelling and engaging content. This role involves managing social media,
creating compelling written and visual content, and supporting the organization’s
marketing strategies. You’ll work closely with various teams to ensure cohesive
messaging and drive community engagement, ultimately helping to increase
awareness and support for our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Content Creation (60%)
- Support the implementation of an omnichannel marketing strategy, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience across all platforms, from social media to email, website, and in-person engagement, creating multiple touchpoints for deeper connection and greater impact.
- Collaborate with youth, staff, partners, and consultants to produce short- and long-form content, including blog/news posts, newsletters, and web updates, that promote CYC’s programs and campaigns.
- Write, edit, and publish content for CYC’s website, ensuring it aligns with our mission and voice.
- Develop and manage social ad campaigns through Meta Business Manager, optimizing for community engagement and awareness.
- Develop storytelling materials, highlighting the individuals and communities we serve to support fundraising, awareness, and advocacy campaigns.
- Work with Marketing and program staff to advance revenue-generating initiatives, including fundraising and affinity partnerships.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communications.
- Provide occasional social media coverage for events outside of regular business hours.
- Optimize content for search engines and ensure best practices for web visibility.
- Track content performance and audience engagement metrics, preparing reports to inform future strategies.
- Identify and target key audience segments to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Stay informed on the latest digital marketing trends and practices, incorporating new ideas to improve content strategy.
- Work closely with program staff, fundraisers, and volunteers to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
- Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and consistent delivery of materials.
- Provide support for additional duties as needed, contributing to the success of various initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of professional experience in relevant fields, such as marketing, media, business data and communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Previous experience writing articles, blog posts, and promotional content
- Previous experience managing social media accounts for businesses or brands
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and email platforms (e.g., Constant Contact).
- Basic knowledge of SEO and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Desire and passion to work in a nonprofit environment dedicated to supporting youth.
- Skilled in digital photography, video editing, and/or graphic design, a plus
- Experience using project management tools to track and manage work, a plus
- Commitment to our organization and mission, with a passion for developing both our staff and our programs to create lasting positive impact in our community.
- Commitment to taking regular Covid-19 health tests as required by program health and safety guidelines and/or current health directives.
