The Opportunity: The Contract Event Manager will be responsible for all events activity by supporting our B2B Marketing team. This person will be the strategic mastermind behind events for our employees, prospects, clients, broker partners and customers. This role is responsible for showcasing the Purchasing Power brand through remarkable and memorable events, ensuring we meet our goals for our internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly collaborative role that will require someone with a positive attitude and willingness to work with many employees throughout the company and with external partners.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee planning, production and execution of events for various audiences including, but not limited to employee events, tradeshows, broker partner events, client events, speed networking direct sales events, and other events as identified in collaboration with the sales and account management teams.
- Ensure a streamlined process is in place for members of the sales organization, including top-to-top networking events, national tradeshows, regional events, corporate meetings, and more to provide a scalable and predictable model for event support
- Create detailed project proposals for all events that includes timelines, locations, vendors, internal (or external) staffing needs within determined budget
- Communicate event strategy and details throughout the organization with various stakeholders
- Communicate often with members of the sales and account management teams for various events
- Analyze success of events, return on investment, and collaborate with marketing stakeholders to brainstorm new, creative approaches to drive attendance and results at events
- Proactively owns, manages, and updates event calendar, timelines and budget, and proactively make future strategic recommendations on events to attend based on sales strategy and go to market efforts
- Manage payment and invoices for events
- Manage the lead generation process and partnership with BtoB Marketing, Sales Operations, Sales, and Account Management (or other stakeholder) on proper post-show follow-up
- Prepare and negotiate contracts relative to event planning, implementation and execution
- May require travelling as on-site contact of events as needed
- Identify and secure speakers, special guests or entertainment for events depending upon audience and budget
- For external events, always presents oneself as professional and approachable as a Purchasing Power brand ambassador. Embodies our company value – we take our work seriously, but not ourselves!
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a general area of study
- 7-10 years of experience with event planning and management, including vendor outreach relationships and working knowledge of planning and designing event space
- Experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel)
- Experience with various types of events from traditional B2B tradeshows to client experiences
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and “think on your feet”
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation and management of contracts
- Curious and collaborative by nature
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
