SHORT DESCRIPTION

Shedd Aquarium is seeking a Coordinator for Brand and Content Marketing to support integrated marketing initiatives, content creation, and brand development in a creative and collaborative environment.

Reports To: Manager, Content Marketing / dotted line: Coordinator, Social Media
Status: Full-Time, Exempt

SUMMARY:
Shedd Aquarium is seeking a creative, organized, and passionate Coordinator, Brand and Content Marketing to support integrated marketing campaigns, content creation, and brand development. Reporting to the Manager of Content with a dotted line to the Social Media Coordinator, this role is essential in executing marketing initiatives efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience in marketing, with strong skills in content creation, creative strategy, branding, storytelling, influencer collaboration, and campaign development.

Integrated Marketing Campaign Management (40%)

  • Project Coordination:
  • Serve as the project coordinator for integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring all initiatives are executed on schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Directors and Senior Directors, to align campaign goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Organize project meetings, update stakeholders on progress, and address any issues.
  • Asset Trafficking:
  • Assist in trafficking advertising assets to media agencies.
  • Manage the flow of information between internal teams and external partners.
Content Creation and Management (40%)

  • Social Media Support:
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator to create engaging content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads/X.
  • Manage the social media content calendar, scheduling posts aligned with campaign and annual KPIs.
  • Assist in implementing a new video strategy to engage audiences beyond the physical aquarium.
  • Influencer and Content Creator Collaborations:
  • Identify and engage with content creators and influencers aligned with Shedd's brand values.
  • Blog Management:
  • Manage the blog calendar, coordinating content scheduling and publication.
  • Content Strategy Support:
  • Assist the Content Marketing Manager in developing content strategies across owned platforms.
  • Contribute ideas for content themes and formats that align with marketing goals.
Brand Development and Experiential Evolution (10%)

  • Brand Strategy:
  • Support the evolution of Shedd's brand strategy.
  • Ensure all content adheres to established brand guidelines.
  • Partnership Opportunities:
  • Aid in identifying marketing partnership opportunities.
  • Coordinate with partners to develop co-branded content and campaigns.
Event Strategy and Facilitation (10%)

  • Event Development and Support:
  • Assist in developing event strategies that reflect Shedd's brand and engage audiences.
  • Contribute to conceptualizing event themes, activities, and attendee experiences.
  • Coordinate logistical details for marketing-led events, including scheduling and on-site support.
Collaboration and Administrative Support (on-going)

  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator, Content Manager, and other team members to align efforts and maximize impact.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain project documentation, including timelines and reports.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Information:

This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to support events.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

Experience:
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, content creation, or related roles.
  • Proven ability to create engaging and brand-aligned content across various platforms, including social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads/X), blogs, and video.
  • Ability to brainstorm and develop innovative ideas that align with brand objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong storytelling skills to craft narratives that engage, inspire, and enhance the guest-to-brand experience.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software) and familiarity with social media management tools.
  • Solid understanding of branding principles and experience in maintaining brand consistency across all content and communications.
  • Experience in assisting with the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and media agencies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write engaging and professional content, including social media posts, blog articles, and marketing materials.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and information to team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of collaborating with colleagues at all levels and across different departments.
  • Skilled in crafting narratives and storytelling that align with the brand and engage the audience.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to different platforms and audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in understanding and analyzing marketing metrics such as engagement rates, conversion rates, and audience growth.
  • Ability to interpret data from analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) and translate numerical insights into actionable marketing strategies
