QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of event planning experience, excellent communication skills, proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), strong organizational skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. Preferred: Bachelor's degree, experience in higher education, familiarity with technology platforms like Symplicity or Handshake.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary liaison among employers, staff, and students, assist in planning and executing career fairs and information sessions, schedule interviews, develop marketing plans to attract employers, maintain recruitment database, and prepare reports as needed.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator, Employer Development & Engagement will play a key role in connecting employers with students and enhancing the career development experience at William & Mary.
The Coordinator reports to the Director, Employer Development & Engagement and serves as the primary liaison between employers, staff and students in the on-campus recruiting process. This includes assisting in the planning and execution of annual career fairs, information sessions and other on-campus activities for employers and students as well as scheduling interviews and confirming interview space. The Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in developing marketing plans to attract new employers to participate in and encourage current employers to return to W&M career fairs, information sessions, and other events, maintaining TribeCareers, our recruitment database for on-campus jobs and providing reports, as needed.

- This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, including, but not limited to, collaboration, staffing, and programming.
- Experience in planning or coordinating meetings and events (typically 1-2 years).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in a variety of software applications to include MS Office, with a high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Acrobat Pro, and/or similar programs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and competing tasks concurrently.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and, experience, and/or training.
- Experience in higher education in a career center.
- Experience with technology platforms (i.e., Symplicity, Handshake, etc.).
- Working knowledge of best practices, career readiness competencies, internships, and applied learning (experiential learning).
