Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coordinator of Programming and Marketing to join the Graduate Student Association (GSA) team. This dynamic role involves managing GSA social media platforms, coordinating engaging professional development workshops, overseeing impactful programs like the Household Items Program (HIP), and providing essential office support. The Coordinator will collaborate with various departments and organizations to deliver meaningful workshops for graduate students and postdocs each fall and spring semester, ensuring all programming aligns with university policies and procedures. Working closely with GSA Council Members, this role ensures the effective administration of GSA programs. Special projects will be assigned by the Director of Graduate Student Services. The Coordinator is a vital part of the GSA team, ensuring smooth year-round operations and advancing the success of graduate students and postdocs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Create and distribute promotional materials for GSA programs.
  • Manage GSA social media and website content.
  • Develop marketing strategies to engage graduate students.
  • Coordinate and manage GSA events, including logistics and vendor negotiations.
  • Develop and implement event planning policies and procedures.
  • Support GSA Council with event coordination, including venue, supplies, and volunteers.
  • Create and manage professional development workshops for graduate students and postdocs.
  • Coordinate logistics, develop materials, and gather feedback on training effectiveness. Serve as liaison for NSHE mentorship grant project.
  • Oversee the Household Items Program (HIP) and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Represent GSA at University functions and manage GSA email and office inquiries. Complete special projects assigned by the Director of Graduate Student Services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR
Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
Related Professional Experience:
  • Student services or related work experience in higher education
  • Program/event coordination, and marketing and social media or related
