The Copywriter is responsible for producing engaging content for promotional and informational channels, translating complex concepts into accessible language, while maintaining clarity and accuracy.
Position Summary
The Copywriter is responsible for creating persuasive, clear, and engaging content tailored for various promotional and informational channels. This includes ad-style copy, promotional materials, and clinical content transformed into colloquial, accessible language for broader audiences across web, social media, video scripts, clinical and technical articles, and corporate communications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Write clear, compelling, and clinically accurate content that reflects ICU Medical's voice across promotional and informational platforms.
- Develop ad-style copy that captivates audiences and aligns with marketing goals.
- Translate complex clinical concepts into approachable, conversational language without compromising accuracy.
- Create a range of materials, including articles, whitepapers, web content, social media posts, video scripts, and corporate communications.
- Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and business unit leads to create impactful messaging frameworks.
- Purpose persuasive copy concepts informed by creative direction and technical information.
- Conduct high-quality research and interviews to inform messaging.
- Revise copy based on internal, client, and approver feedback, maintaining flexibility and attention to detail.
Knowledge & Skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, proficient in translating complex technical and clinical concepts into engaging, audience-appropriate content.
- Strong understanding of ad-style and promotional copywriting techniques, with the ability to craft concise, persuasive promotional messaging.
- Skilled in producing detailed, dense-technical content such as whitepapers, articles, and clinical materials while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
- Adept at tailoring tone and style to resonate with diverse target audiences, including clinicians and non-clinicians.
- Highly collaborative, creative, and action-oriented with strong customer service skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of SEO principles to optimize copy for digital platforms preferred.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing promotional and communications materials, including ad-style copy required.
- Previous experience in an agency or in-house corporate communications setting is preferred.
Work Environment
- This is largely a sedentary role.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
