Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented Director – Creative & Brand who has a diverse portfolio demonstrating they are an experienced team leader, strategic and conceptual thinker, with a keen eye for aesthetics and storytelling. As a brand leader at Benco you will be the driving force behind clarifying audience insights and leveraging the new brand identity we recently completed. We need your strategic and creative expertise to lead a team in the development of multi-channel marketing (digital, social, experiential, and advertising), sales enablement and communications initiatives which use the new brand to inspire passion, loyalty, and emotional connection. As such, you understand and can convey why branding is much more than a logo, color palette and tagline—and how the broader team at Benco can take advantage.

We need someone who can spearhead the clarification and communication of brand strategy, increasing brand awareness locally/regionally, and providing strategic direction and guidance to the marketing team to ensure all programs and promotions align with, support brands goals, and help drive national success.
The Director – Creative & Brand is a member of the Marketing team and oversees Benco’s in-house roster of multimedia designers, graphic designers, and writers. Your portfolio should demonstrate experience and fluency across advertising, design (graphic and motion), video production, experiential and event production, direct mail, social media, and sales programs. You have led diverse teams before and know how to collaborate with project managers to triage and prioritize high volumes of work.

- Serve as the brand ambassador, both internally and externally. Help us clearly define and take advantage of actionable customer insights; establish clear objectives for brand positioning and communication; and articulate a vision for short and long-term success. Uphold and evangelize brand strategy to drive effective development of creative content and brand promotion across all channels and markets.
- Be the partner with marketing, sales, and demand generation leaders to understand their overarching business goals, then align and supervise the Creative Studio to deliver seamless, on-time and on-budget content that resonates with target audiences and differentiates Benco from its competitors.
- Partner with the Digital Marketing team to monitor, understand and evaluate brand performance and key metrics to help improve brand performance across all marketing channels.
- Oversee the definition and implementation of a distinct and consistent approach to our new Benco brand identity across all enterprise-wide marketing and promotional materials, trade show displays, direct marketing, websites, and multi-media presentations. Lead the team in upholding consistent creative quality. Help them define and manage brand standards, style guides, and playbooks and train the broader org in leveraging sales templates, digital resources, and DAM management.
- Hire, manage and lead the evolution of the Creative Studio team. Evaluate and edit job descriptions, lead individual performance reviews, collaborate with PMs to manage team priorities, planning, and workflow. Guide the team in evaluating and improving its quality and capabilities across videography, photography, motion and graphic design, and copywriting. Uphold the value of continuous learning, especially as we explore and implement opportunities for automation as well as AI to improve speed and levels of customization.
- Develop and cultivate strong, cost-effective external agency and freelance relationships as needed to achieve marketing objectives. Collaborate with Benco sourcing, finance, and leadership in creating and leveraging a vendor/agency database with special focus on product videography, photography, and copy resources.
Do YOU Meet These Requirements?
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Graphic Design or closely related field, or significant relevant experience
- Strong and diverse portfolio displaying design and branding experience across many channels
- 5 + years of experience in a senior creative leadership role
- 7+ years of brand strategy or brand management experience
- 10+ years as an art director, designer or copywriter with agency and/or in-house experience
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications
- Meticulous with solid organizational skills
- Incorporate feedback and take/give directions well
- Can work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Motivated individuals who are fueled by innovative thinking. Willing to take initiative and have a desire to tackle challenging opportunities.
