SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Creative Director - Learning Resources Group is responsible for leading the visual direction and creative output for various products and projects, while fostering innovation and excellence within a multi-disciplinary team.

Strategic Responsibility:

The Creative Director - Learning Resources Group, provides strategic leadership and oversees the visual direction for David C Cooks authors, products, and projects while contributing hands-on creative work. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong working portfolio and mastery in their craft, whether specializing in graphic design, video production, or both. The Creative Director will lead and manage a team of designers, videographers, editors, and external vendors to produce market-leading assets using current industry best practices. Additionally, this position will coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. They will also ensure timely and effective communication and progress updates with internal and external stakeholders, including publishing, curriculum, marketing, production, and authors.

Job Description:

Guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative department.

Lead and direct the creative team in the production of all marketing collateral and creative content, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Manage the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring efficient workflows and timely delivery of projects.

Build treatments, implement actionable strategies, and (when needed) creative deliverables for graphic design, video, and web projects, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and emerging trends.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education: Bachelors degree in graphic design, film, marketing, or other applicable area of study. Equivalent work history in lieu of education will be considered.

Experience: 5-7 years experience in creative direction with a proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team required. Previous experience in account leadership and marketing/retail is preferred. The candidate must have strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. They should possess a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into effective tactics. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential. Proficiency in graphic design, web design, and video/audio editing is required.

Specialized Knowledge/Certification: Expert experience with the Adobe Creative Suite. Basic knowledge and experience with MS Office. Savvy in email marketing and lead lifecycle optimization.

Equipment Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with new marketing trends and digital-first technologies. Comfortable working daily with a global team and liaising with people abroad.
