Creative Director, Copy

We’re looking for a Creative Director, Copy who is a visionary and inspirational leader. In this role you’ll lead Kiosk’s creative team and drive creative and content strategy, process, and execution for clients and the agency. The successful candidate will be the custodian of Kiosk’s creative identity and reputation, and take pride in championing and leading world-class work.
This position is based in our Novato, CA office and we are open to part-time or full-time, ranging between 20 - 40 hours per week. The role requires you to be in the office at least one day per week, so we’re only considering local candidates.
Responsibilities
- Creative Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire the creative team, including copywriters, designers, and content producers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creative thinking, experimentation, constructive feedback, and continuous learning.
- Develop efficient and effective creative processes that deliver high-quality work while embracing Kiosk’s values and driving profitability.
- Mentor and develop creative team members, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and set objectives for team members.
- Advocate for the creative team across the business and form strong working relationships with other team leaders based on respect and trust.
- Creative Work:
- Develop and execute creative strategies and overarching campaign creative ideas that align with client objectives, brand vision, and Kiosk’s goals.
- Work with creative stakeholders to crystalize their vision into messaging headlines and copywriting frameworks that encapsulate the character, tone, and style of a brand, campaign or project.
- Own Kiosk’s content strategy and execution, including the agency’s website and social media channels.
- Collaborate with account managers, developers, media team leads, and clients to understand project goals and develop creative solutions.
- Lead or oversee creative projects, including brand development, campaign creative, web/digital projects, print design concepts, and videography/photography shoots - ensuring they are original, impactful, and on-brand.
- Complete writing assignments as needed, including name generation, headlines, long-form copy, and short-form copy.
- Participate in, review, and approve all creative work, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure high-quality web, digital, social media, and print outputs.
- Work with account managers and/or project managers to keep creative projects on time and budget
- Client Engagement:
- Present creative concepts and campaigns to clients, effectively communicating the strategic vision and creative rationale.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all creative matters.
- General:
- Stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities to provide clients with innovative and competitive solutions.
- Attend and participate in monthly ‘all-hands’ meetings.
- Complete and submit weekly timesheets, with assistance as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Uphold Kiosk’s values and ethics throughout all aspects of your work.
- Keep open lines of communication with your line manager and the founders to share ideas and issues as they arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Copywriting, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a creative role, with at least 2 years at an advertising agency.
- Minimum of 2 years managing a team.
- Proven track record of developing successful advertising campaigns across various media channels.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work, including web, digital, social media, and print.
- Successful production of headlines, long-form copy, and short-form copy.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse creative team.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to clients and internal teams.
- Strong understanding of current industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to check your own work.
Pay Range: $60.00 per hour to $72.11 per hour
