The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for front-end originations, customer management, and/or credit line management programs for Fingerhut or additional retail brands as assigned. This position will perform basic analysis within existing credit programs. The goal is to optimize performance and manage different initiatives across the entire lifecycle of account management post-origination. The Credit Risk Analyst will be involved in all phases of the credit life cycle, working closely with our Marketing, Decision Sciences, Forecasting and Credit Implementation teams to support our growing suite of credit products.

This role is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN head office within our hybrid environment that has team members come into the office 3 days a week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the design and implementation of account management or acquisition strategies using basic methodologies.
  • Support risk analysis for various Marketing initiatives as well as monitoring and identifying changes in portfolio performance.
  • Support internal stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, available in a timely manner, updated as part of new initiatives, and can be extracted/analyzed quickly.
  • Support credit reporting across the customer life cycle from pre-screen to charge-off; ensure reporting is accurately executed and provides value-added insights into variances.
  • Work on validating models against the customer population, including ongoing maintenance and documentation.
  • Help communicate status of all credit initiatives in a timely and effective manner.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or business field (Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, etc.) or High School Diploma with 5+ years industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with SAS or similar programing language and exposure to SQL, decision trees and Excel.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an analytics/modeling/reporting role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or CFA
  • Desire to learn and ask questions about models and data aggregated from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
  • Experience clearly summarizing and communicating results from analysis; present findings to more senior level team members.
  • Analytical and results oriented, independent thinker and strong problem solver.
