SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Data Evangelist / Data Journalist will leverage data to enhance communication and storytelling at Global Payments, transforming complex data into presentations and reports while engaging with media to communicate insights effectively.
The Data Evangelist / Data Journalist will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to enhance communication and storytelling within Global Payments. This position focuses on transforming complex data into compelling presentations, informative white papers, and insightful reports. The Data Evangelist will also contribute to analytical efforts and engage with press and media to communicate the organization’s insights and value proposition effectively.
- Data Analysis:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets from various sources to extract actionable insights.
- Utilize statistical tools and methodologies to assess data quality and identify trends.
- Content Creation:
- Develop compelling narratives and reports based on data findings to support marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
- Write articles, white papers, and case studies that communicate complex data insights clearly and engagingly.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and sales, to ensure data-driven storytelling aligns with organizational goals.
- Work with the marketing team to integrate data insights into promotional materials and messaging.
- Thought Leadership:
- Contribute to the creation of thought leadership content that positions Global Payments as an industry expert, utilizing data to back claims and insights.
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the significance of data insights.
- Trend Monitoring:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data journalism and analytics.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data in innovative ways to enhance marketing efforts.
- Create engaging and visually appealing presentations that effectively communicate data-driven insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that presentations align with strategic objectives and key messaging.
- Develop high-quality white papers and reports that articulate the value of Global Payments' products and services, utilizing data to support claims and insights.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform content creation and ensure credibility and relevance.
- Analyze data from various sources to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that inform product strategies and marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with the research team to ensure that analytical findings are effectively communicated through various channels.
- Serve as a data spokesperson, providing insights and expertise for press releases, media inquiries, and interviews.
- Develop relationships with journalists and industry influencers to promote data-driven stories that highlight Global Payments’ innovation and thought leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data journalism and analytics, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of market developments.
- Contribute to the company’s thought leadership initiatives by publishing articles and insights that position Global Payments as an industry expert.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: Marketing or equivalent field from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Typically a minimum of 6 years - 3-5 years of experience with B2B marketing of consumer-facing products, consumer financial services, or digital banking and payments services. At least 5 years of experience in a large (at least 5,000 employees) matrixed organization and a start-up organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically 8+ years - Experience successfully launching and growing products within an eCommerce, FinTech or Paytech business. Demonstrated track record of creating compelling value proposition / narrative. Advanced quantitative and analytical skills with expertise in developing pricing and offers.
- Licensing and/or Certification - Pragmatic Marketing Certification
- Skills / Knowledge - Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve moderately complex issues in creative and effective ways. Having ownership of a sub-function, account or matrix management responsibilities, applies knowledge to meet goals, maintain relationships, propose opportunities to expand the business, and lead matrix teams. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
