The Office Manager / Billing Specialist will manage operations of the dental office, ensuring efficient scheduling, billing, and compliance while contributing to practice growth and team development.

Description:

The Office Manager / Billing Specialist oversees the daily operations of the dental office by managing and achieving operational goals. Responsible for effectively managing patient scheduling, staff scheduling and productivity, patient collections, increasing production and collections/receivable, managing team schedules, improve provider satisfaction, and contribute to growth and development of the practice. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform all job related activities

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations
  • Ability to verify insurance
  • Patient scheduling
  • Staff scheduling and productivity
  • Knowledge of dental coding and billing
  • Ability to submit electronic and manual claims
  • Enter insurance payments and explanation of benefits into patient charts
  • Appeal denied claims
  • Follow up on outstanding claims
  • Monitor the insurance aging report
  • Collect payments from patients and post to patients' accounts.
  • Send patients statements in cases that it is warranted.
  • Processing monthly billing statements with continual follow-up on past-due accounts.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies to efficiently resolve all account disputes
  • Data entry
  • Identify inconsistencies to prevent inaccurate billing to patients and insurance companies
  • Post payments daily
  • Daily reconciliations
  • Compiling day sheets for office and provider
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with management
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Oversees and manages office inventory
  • Maintains facility and equipment cleanliness
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations, including OSHA
  • Ensures flawless execution of operational standards and government regulations
  • Ensure compliance with established company policies, procedures
  • Responds to doctor, patient and employee grievances, complaints, and inquires and seeks assistance when necessary
  • Continually works towards building and sustaining a cohesive work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced PC skills required, including Open Dental, Excel, Word and Power Point

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in dental practice management.
  • Familiarity with managed care processes and insurance claims.
  • Proficiency in dental software applications such as Open Dental.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical record management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge of budgeting practices within a dental office setting is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team.
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media management is a plus.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour to be increased to $30/hour following successful training period
