QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, administration, and communications; B.A./B.S. preferred; bilingual in Spanish/English and experience in PR, marketing, or fundraising is a plus.

Coordinate fund development and communication activities, produce marketing materials, manage online presence, document patient testimonials, draft grant applications, execute email marketing, plan events, and maintain development files.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Development and Communication Associate manages fund development and communication activities to support the mission of Dientes Community Dental Care.
Position Summary
The Development and Communication Associate is responsible for the coordination of fund development and communication activities.
Fund Development and Communications
- Develop and produce direct mail, including: annual report, newsletters, direct mail appeals, and other materials by conducting interviews, collecting data, managing mailing lists, writing articles, managing graphic design consultant, and coordinating with printer and mail-house
- Create graphics using Canva and Microsoft Publisher as needed for social media, email marketing, direct mail, and patient communications
- Maintain online presence and amplify engagement, including: Company website maintenance, Dientes Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Document patient testimonials, including pictures and quotations, and manage their inclusion in communication materials.
- Draft grant applications and reports
- Execute and write copy for all email marketing
- Support clinic communications with targeted patient mailings, patient education campaigns, etc.
- Coordinate with Finance Department on regular financial reporting using development database
- Coordinate event planning and logistics including: Save the Date emails, invites, visuals and handout creation, vendor management; RSVP management and event set-up
- Report and measure communications and fund development progress, including ROI on development activities
- Coordinate digital, print and other forms of advertising.
- Assist with donor prospect research
- Use a campaign approach to align all donor communications: direct mail, email marketing, social media, website, landing pages, advertising, PR, etc.
- Oversee design, distribution of collateral, including: brochures, flyers, and posters
- Coordinate production of company videos and photoshoots
- Work with Development Director and Chief Development Officer to coordinate budgets and deadlines.
- Represent organization at community events and partner meetings.
- Organize and maintain development files and subscriptions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a non-profit organization with responsibilities in fundraising/business development, administration and communications.
- Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, auto insurance and reliable vehicle.
Preferred Education/Experience
- B.A./B.S.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Experience in PR or marketing with an emphasis on developing materials for publication
- Experience in fundraising and database management
- Experience in grant research and proposal development
- Skilled in event planning
Skills/Specialized Knowledge

- Technical Skills:
Knowledge of non-profit fundraising, including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, prospect research and tracking, and campaign structures.
Advanced proficiency with: Bloomerang database; Canva, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher); Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WordPress, Adobe Acrobat & Photoshop
- Project management: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in managing complex and multi-dimensional projects.
- Initiative & Resourcefulness: Ability and willingness to be self-starting and take initiative.
- Time management: Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines without compromising attention to detail.
- Team player: Ability to work independently as well as function cooperatively and productively as a member of a team. Great interpersonal skills.
- Communicating: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to convey ideas to different types of individuals. Strong editing skills. Positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential material accurately and with sensitivity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
