To enhance the College’s online presence through creative, technical, and strategic efforts, including managing the website, developing digital campaigns, and creating engaging content. By aligning with brand standards, ensuring accessibility, and leveraging data analytics, the role drives visibility, engagement, and measurable outcomes aligned with the College’s mission. Additionally, the designer provides staff training and consultation on CMS use and accessibility compliance. This position receives general direction from the Director of Marketing & Public Relations and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired:
Knowledge of: 1. Preparing, executing and managing digital marketing campaigns across channels, including advertising platforms (i.e. Web, Google ads, social media); 2. Maintaining visual and messaging consistency across digital platforms; 3. Managing and maintaining website in content management system (CMS), perform basic HTML coding and use responsive design principles; 4. Using effective strategies in SEO, SEM, social media/email and content marketing and web analytic tools to analyze, track and report on marketing performance; 5. Creating user-friendly experiences across platforms and complying with web accessibility regulations; 6. Designing and producing engaging digital content, such as copy, graphics and short videos. Skills in: 7. Designing and producing engaging digital content, including graphics, videos and copy for web and social media, such as YouTube; 8. Planning, executing and managing digital marketing campaigns; 9. Design theory and use of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite; 10. Communication, both oral and written, 11. Excellent writing, editing and the use of proper grammar; 12. Attention to detail when reviewing content and design; 13. Project management, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality standards. Ability to: 14. Work independently, showing personal initiative and also collaboratively; 15. Plan, deliver and/or support CMS training for faculty and staff; 16. Stay current on trends and techniques in digital marketing and web design; 17. Communicate clearly, professionally and accurately; 18. Be service-oriented, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students and web vendors; 19. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve website issues; 20. Complete or assign duties utilizing project management system; 21. Follow and adhere to MCC’s policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
Experience: More than two years of work experience in communications, web, creative services, and/or marketing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Work experience in performing digital marketing activities and working in content management system (CMS)
