SHORT DESCRIPTION

Seeking a creative Digital Media Specialist to enhance brand awareness and support online philanthropy initiatives for the Northern Illinois Food Bank through strategic social media and communications management.

Position Summary
We are seeking a creative and strategic Digital Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing all social media strategies to increase Northern Illinois Food Bank’s brand awareness across all social media platforms. You will work closely with our philanthropy team to support our online philanthropy initiatives that help communicate target audiences to help generate revenue for the Food Bank. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment to help develop communications across multi-media platforms. This role is responsible for utilizing and maintaining online tools including Hootsuite, email, and peer-to-peer event software (i.e.: Active Campaign, CLASSY) and the Food Bank website (WordPress). The ideal person in this role must be organized and technical.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, Implement, and maintain all Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok)
  • Maintain email lists and send out internal email campaigns and (Active Campaign) in collaboration with direct marketing agency (Allegiance) and internal philanthropy team
  • Maintain Food Bank website (WordPress) changing pictures, updating the site, utilizing SEO to ensure the site ranks high identifying web enhancements, and creating landing pages as needed for all Food Bank departments
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, their opportunities for enhancing communications outreach and increasing brand awareness, revenue, and any risks such technology presents

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in digital marketing, communications, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience and proficiency in the social media management tool Hootsuite and working experience with Linktree
  • Managing website communications, developing email marketing campaigns or digital advertising campaigns (Active Campaign)
  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented and organized team player with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working specifically with WordPress, Active Campaign, Raiser’s Edge, Google Adwords, Google Grants
  • Experience with creating and editing video and Adobe design software a plus

Additional Information
  • The starting salary range for this position is [$48,168- $60,210], based on skills and experience
  • This position's working schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location
  • Some local travel is required. Must have dependable transportation and ability and flexibility to drive long distances (e.g., to Rockford, IL) as needed

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work a minimum of 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Remote Work
Based on the Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Remote Work Policy and position evaluation, this position is eligible for hybrid remote work.

Position Location and Travel
This position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location, or potentially another one of our Center locations. No travel is required for this position except for occasional learning and developmental conferences that may be offered.
