What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Content to spearhead our thought leadership and content strategy in the digital experience space. This isn't your typical content marketing role. We're looking for a strategic leader who will reimagine what B2B content marketing can be—and achieve.

As a key leader within the integrated marketing team, you'll build deep expertise in our digital experience technology, audiences, and market direction to create insightful, attention-earning content that goes beyond explaining the tech—it influences audience behavior. The ideal candidate is a multifaceted strategist with a passion for a great story, a willingness to jump in on execution, and an obsession with content distribution. You'll be excited to collaborate with our world-class campaign, product marketing, and growth marketing teams to innovate how content can drive value and true audience engagement at every stage of the customer journey.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Design and execute a sophisticated content strategy with an equally sophisticated distribution engine—ensuring our insights reach and resonate with decision-makers across channels, platforms, and touchpoints
  • Lead the creation of high-impact content (together with one FTE and agency resources) across formats and channels that resonates with both technical and marketing decision-makers, across brand awareness generation, new business acquisition and customer expansion motions.
  • Demonstrate a sharp journalistic instinct. You don't need to be an expert on every topic, but you need to have an opinion on what our point of view should be, and work to source and enable the experts who can bring that POV to life, supporting them with your storytelling expertise to create content that breaks through the noise.
  • Collaborate with our creative studio to produce premium content that positions us as the best-in-class thought leader in the digital experience space.
  • Working in tandem with our audience marketing experts, customer marketing team, product marketing team, and the earned and influenced media team, you'll be a sparring partner to all of them, ideating and influencing how to bring their content needs to life in a way that makes a difference.
  • Content marketing changes fast, and you should be at the forefront of these changes. Whether it's a billboard or an advanced web personalization journey, there isn't a kind of content you're not willing to experiment with. While great content takes a dedicated effort, you'll become an expert in leveraging and scaling up resources as needed to execute at the speed of (y)our imagination.
  • You'll stay closely aligned with our campaigns and marketing operations teams to understand content effectiveness, report on content performance, and leverage this information to shape and optimize your content strategy.
  • At Contentstack, one of our target audiences is content marketers, publishers, and creators. You'll become our in-house expert on content excellence, and will guide them in how to create content ROI and the world's best digital experiences.
  • Some travel may be required.

What Really Gets Us Excited About You?

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • 12-16 years of experience in content marketing strategy, planning, distribution and execution, with a focus on storytelling and engagement generation
  • Experience leading world-class B2B content marketing strategy
  • Proven expertise in creating engagement-generating content that drives measurable results
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to drive a visionary approach in a high-paced environment
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage agency relationships, including onboarding and performance oversight
  • Experience with measuring and reporting on content analytics, site personalization, and A/B/n testing
  • Experience in journalism, publishing, or similar field
  • Some travel may be required.

Base salary for this role ranges between $165,000 and $180,000 based on skills and experience.

What Do We Offer?

Interesting Work | We hire curious trendspotters and brave trendsetters. This is NOT your boring, routine, cushy, rest-and-vest corporate job. This is the "challenge yourself" role where you learn something new every day, never stop growing, and have fun while you're doing it.

Tribe Vibe | We are more than colleagues, we are a tribe. We have a strict "no a**hole policy" and enforce it diligently. This means we spend time together - with spontaneous office happy hours, organized outings, and community volunteer opportunities. We are a diverse and distributed team, but we like to stay connected.

Bragging Rights | We are dreamers and dream makers. Our efforts pay off and we work with the most prestigious brands, from big-name retailers to airlines, to professional sports teams. Your contribution will make an impact with many of the most recognizable names in almost every industry including ASICS, Chase, Steve Madden, Holiday Inn, Icelandair, Mattel, Mitsubishi, Riot Games, Shell, and many more!

One Team One Dream | This is one of our values, and it shows. We don't believe in artificial hierarchies. If you're part of the tribe, you have an opportunity to contribute. Your voice will be heard and you will also receive regular updates about the business and its performance. Which, btw, is through the roof, so it's a great time to be joining…
