Seeking a marketing and communications leader to enhance brand image and corporate reputation through effective strategies and programs at Conning.

Develop, implement and lead all aspects of the marketing and communications programs that promote Conning and our business(es). Focus on digital marketing, media, advertising and branding that will effectively represent Conning’s products and services. Develop and execute internal and executive communications programs in collaboration with our parent company (GIH) which advance the company's brand image, market positioning and corporate reputation. Effectively and efficiently deliver on the department's mandate to produce high-impact informational and educational materials to employees, clients, consultants and prospects via multiple delivery channels. Lead team and outsourced services to deliver on brand promise.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the company's communications practice. Consult with various corporate and business practices on their internal and external communications needs. This includes leading the firm’s thought capital program.
- Close collaboration with Business Development to effectively utilize marketing to drive sales.
- Collaborate with peers on the GIH Internal Communications Team for cascading of institutional messages from the group. Work closely with leadership, HR and GIH Internal Communications to ensure that all internal messaging is clear, consistent and reflective of the overall values and mission.
- Drive effective internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and align organization goals by developing, delivering and managing internal communication channels. Ensure a consistent tone and voice for all employee communications.
- Design architecture for corporate messaging and crisis management. Manage media outreach. Supervise message development and interview coaching.
- Develop advertising messaging and plans, with emphasis on both lead generation and branding.
- Oversee the corporate website – including content development, navigation, design and reporting. Manage and develop content for conning.com website and the intranet.
- Coordinate and execute announcements, by-line articles, media statements and FAQs.
- Oversee agency and vendor partnerships.
- Keep management informed of significant media and industry issues.
- Effectively and efficiently deliver high-impact informational and educational materials for clients and employees via multiple delivery channels.
- Manage development and delivery of employee newsletters and town halls. Responsibilities will include story and message development, slides and scripts, and packaging of pre-post message flows.
- Lead marketing team to support workflow, professional development, and career management.
Requirements
- 10+ years demonstrated communications experience within financial services or related industry
- Gain and possess well-established media contacts and relationships
- Experience in integrated marketing and communications, brand-building and corporate image management
- Proven history of working with internal and external teams on delivering content. Excellent communication and coaching skills. Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to assess and address both opportunistic and time-critical situations and to manage projects seamlessly. Experience leading matrixed teams, building consensus and developing programs to advance Conning’s corporate and business messages to its employee audience and the media.
- Outstanding writing skills as well as financial knowledge with experience in visual story telling. Act as a catalyst of creativity; a structured thinker who can prioritize work streams to support near and long-term business goals.
- Work closely with senior leaders, human resources, and external contacts
- Lead Marketing and Communications team. The number of direct reports may change over time.
