Oversee team of gift officers, maintain a donor portfolio, provide strategic direction for annual fund and major gift solicitation, support corporate giving and planned giving efforts, manage grant and foundation opportunities, and maintain professional relationships within the organization.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Responsible for developing and executing a strategic fundraising plan to support Good Shepherd’s mission by leading efforts in major, planned, and annual gifts, and maintaining donor relations.

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Oversees team of major, planned and annual fund gift officers. Provides strategic support for Development staff members involved with the annual fund, grant writing, corporate solicitation, major and planned giving. Works closely with Associate Vice President for Development to develop a strategic fundraising plan in support of Good Shepherd’s mission.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • WORKS TO SUPPORT OVERALL DEPARTMENT FUNCTION

      • By working with the Associate Vice President, Development to help set strategy for fundraising efforts for campaigns, annual funds, events and other departmental goals
      • By providing support and input on fundraising activity for Board Reports
      • By assisting with the overall budget of the department and reporting on budget needs for individual areas of oversight
      • By working with the Institutional Advancement team to create operational plans that support the organization’s strategic plan
      • By setting goals and measuring outcomes for the gift officer team
    • MAINTAINS ACTIVE DONOR PORTFOLIO

      • By preparing and maintaining a portfolio of donors capable of a major and/or planned gift.
      • By executing a moves management system to guide prospects through regular cultivation and solicitation cycles.
      • By maintaining relationships with current donors and actively working to identify potential new supporters
      • By soliciting gifts and pledges in support of capital projects and overall department fundraising goals
    • PROVIDES OVERSIGHT OF ANNUAL FUND

      • By working with the Database Administrator and other vendors as appropriate to examine previous giving records, engagement and potential for assigned prospects
      • By providing strategic direction to the gift officers in development of a donor pipeline and moves management system
      • By utilizing data and predictive modeling methods to increase annual giving revenue
      • By offering support of the gift officers to establish and execute an annual employee giving campaign
    • PROVIDES OVERSIGHT OF MAJOR GIFT SOLICITATION

      • By working with the Associate Vice President, Development and other leadership to identify main fundraising priorities
      • By working with the gift officer team to maintain a pipeline for major gift solicitation and donor cultivation
      • By helping to set fundraising goals for major gift solicitation and following up with checkpoints on gift officer team metrics
      • By working with the Donor Relations and Stewardship Specialist to provide recognition and stewardship of major gifts
    • PROVIDES OVERSIGHT OF GRANT AND FOUNDATION MANGEMENT

      • By working with the Development Officer in charge of grant writing to identify additional grant and foundation opportunities and develop a moves management plan
      • By providing strategy to drive the annual plan for grant and foundation cultivation and solicitation
      • By working with the Development Officer to identify areas of financial need
      • By developing strategies for the collection and management of a Common Data Set and internal communication plan to gather data
    • PROVIDES SUPPORT OF CORPORATE GIVING

      • By providing strategic insight and goal setting for Development Officer in charge of corporate solicitation
      • By helping to identify ways to increase major gifts in support of capital projects or special event support
      • By Networking in the community to help establish and cultivate relationships with Corporate donors
    • PROVIDES SUPPORT OF PLANNED GIVING

      • By working with the Planned Giving Officer to provide annual strategy relative to estate gifts and bequests
      • By providing support of Planned Giving Officer in setting goals to acquire new members of the 1908 Raker Society and stewarding current members
      • By working to provide support in streamlining estate paperwork and donor records
    • MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

      • By interacting with various constituencies to ensure overall support for the organization.
      • By working with the Associate Vice President for Development to demonstrate the value of development to Associates and Volunteers and help build a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
    • MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
      • By attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional activities.
    • PARTICIPATES IN STRATEGIC PLANNING AND GOAL SETTING

    • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Education
        • Bachelor's Degree required
      • Work Experience
        • 5+ Years of Nonprofit Fundraising Experience required.
        • Prior experience managing a team required.
        • Previous Capital Campaign experience preferred.
        • Previous work in the health-care environment preferred.
      • Licenses / Certifications
        • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred

Location: Good Shepherd Rehabilitation · Corporate/Home - Institutional Advancement
Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk), Day Shift - 8 hours, 8:00AM - 5:00PM; hours may vary
