Director of Business Development responsible for building client relationships, obtaining projects, and spearheading market development for Lux Machina’s services in virtual production and AR/XR technologies.
We are seeking a Director of Business Development for the United States. This key role is responsible for creating and building client relationships while sponsoring interactions to obtain projects and spearheading market development for Lux Machina’s services. This role assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.
The focus of the Director of Business Development will be to develop productive relationships with production companies, creatives and executives across film, television, gaming, and large special events. This role will be focusing on creating business opportunities in virtual production and virtual art department, AR/XR, screens technology as well as the supporting production and technical services.
We prefer a person to be located near a media hub such as Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, or another key media location. This is a Full-Time salaried position plus commission based on sales / business brought to our organization. We are seeking a person with a minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience with a background in technical services and consultative selling or production. There will be some travel as needed.
Key duties:
- Responsible for lead growth within specified markets and developing account strategy, territory planning and product marketing.
- Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
- Pitches highly technical products and services and helps to scope the appropriate client solutions.
- Responsible for scoping projects and developing budget estimations to meet client expectations.
- Responsible for contract negotiations, closing the sales and developing marketing plans for large global accounts.
- Work with other business development associates in developing cross-selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with the operations and finance team to evaluate project performance and recommend refinements and improvements to produce profitable proposals.
- Assists in planning and participating in sales and marketing events as well as educational and industry related conferences.
- Evaluates market vertical for competitive activity, industry innovations and develops new methods of attaining new accounts.
- Work with the VP of Sales & Marketing to streamline client acquisition practices, sales operations and develop processes to support the project cycle specific to the sales and finance workflow.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years of business development experience with strong understanding of market trends and industry landscape
- Proven history of developing new markets and key accounts.
- Experience in pitching highly technical products and services to creative and production executives.
- Capable of meeting and exceeding sales targets including revenue goals, lead conversion and new client opportunities.
- Skilled at managing client expectations and project scope as well as negotiating service agreements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
