The Director of Business Development at Landmark Hospitals will focus on building referral relationships and educating the community about critical care services, while also managing a territory to drive financial success for the hospitals.

Landmark Hospitals in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is looking to add a development leader to focus on referrals to our facilities. The ideal candidate will have Healthcare and Sales experience and must be located near Cape Girardeau to facilitate and build relationships with the referring hospitals in the region. You will use your passion for helping others by educating the community about our critical care services. Successful candidates will embody characteristics such as problem-solving, creativity, improvising & overcoming obstacles, persistence, and solid organizational skills supporting an efficient sales process.
This role has a base salary and is eligible for a performance bonus. Full medical, dental, vision, STD/LDT, and other voluntary benefits are available. We offer PTO and 401K matching.
This position is remote but will consist of extensive travel within the community.
What does a Clinical Liaison at Landmark Hospitals do?
Reporting to the Regional Director of Business Development, the Director of Business Development (DBD) will be primarily responsible for cultivating and nurturing high-value relationships with physicians and key referral sources through the service area. The Director of Business Development supports the hospitals’ marketing teams in establishing relationships with hospitals, key departments, administrative leadership, case management, and medical leadership. The Director is actively involved in communicating, educating, and serving as the conduit of information, assisting referring entities and referral sources with the placement of patients requiring the level of care provided by the company’s hospitals.
Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in the planning and creation of strategic, operational, service design and other organizational alignments needed to achieve the mission and vision of the market
- Working collaboratively with the Landmark executive team to identify special projects such as physician recruitment and retention, marketing issues and new program implementation
- Identifying and developing relationships with key physicians and leadership with referral sources, regional hospital management and regional decision makers
- Developing and executing hospital-specific market plans
- Managing a territory and driving financial success for the hospitals
- Account planning and management
- Accomplishing plan goals within outlined timeframes
- Pre-assessing and screening patients to determine if patients are clinically appropriate for the level of care consistent with the required criteria
- Facilitating patient admission through assessment collection, communication, and coordination of information
- Conducting facility tours
- Coordinating with departments responsible for the development of financial proformas, marketing in the hospitals, and developing relationships with healthcare stakeholders to assist with program development and physician engagement
- Maintaining and updating presentations, proposal content, and contracts consistent with the company's development and operational initiatives

Requirements for Clinical Liaison/ Business Development
- Professional Healthcare License (RN, LPN, RT, PT, OT, etc.) - preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Marketing, or related discipline - preferred
- 2+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record of success in a referral-driven post-acute environment
- Excellent organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Possess the ability to influence and provide appropriate clinical evaluation and input regarding patients
- Excellent interpersonal, teaming and communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in MS Office and common web applications
- Able to travel (by car) extensively within the market; maintain adequate auto insurance coverage
