SHORT DESCRIPTION

Seeking a Director of Content & Brand to enhance marketing efforts, drive audience engagement, and oversee content production in a dynamic, remote environment.

About Databox

Come join us on our mission to make it easier for every team at growing businesses to leverage data to improve performance faster. We are the go-to analytics software for marketing agencies and SaaS companies, and are investing heavily in expanding into the mid-market.

In 2024, Databox ranked among the Top 25 Inspiring Workplaces. We believe in providing an environment that is not only a great place to work, but also a place where each individual is inspired and supported to grow their potential. We’re passionate about surrounding ourselves with people who share our values and fostering an environment that thrives only when everyone succeeds.

The Role: Director of Content & Brand

Databox is looking for a dynamic, data-obsessed, multi-media creator to join our marketing team in the new role of Director of Content & Brand. This is a remote role where you’ll report to the VP of Marketing and lead a small-but-mighty 4-person, global team to take our content and brand marketing efforts to the next level. You are ideally living in the Eastern Time Zone (GMT-5) to maximize overlap across our US and European teams.

In this role, you'll be a key public face and voice of the company, setting the strategy and executing programs to build audiences, engagement, resonance and preference amongst our ideal customer profile. Organic demand generation has always been core to our marketing success and we are excited for a new leader to bring fresh energy that will help scale and differentiate our brand, social media presence, podcast, newsletter, blog, video production, partner co-marketing, and overall content marketing engine.

Success means collaborating closely with your marketing teammates, as well as the Sales, Product and Customer Success teams to rapidly experiment and scale what works, while sharing your front-line learnings to make the whole team more effective. Oh, and making & marketing lots of kick-ass content that you’re super-proud of and that drives business results.

What You’ll Do

  • Content marketing: Evolve our content strategy and get your hands dirty with content production (multimedia: written, video, audio/podcast, etc.) and distribution across channels
  • Social media: Set and execute our social strategy to build and engage audiences, scale brand awareness and preference, especially on LinkedIn and YouTube
  • SEO: Partner with our internal growth marketer to support SEO/GEO visibility and success
  • Partner co-marketing: Enable partners to create and distribute content with us, leveraging their expertise and reach alongside our established audiences and massive proprietary datasets from our Analytics and Benchmarks products, plus dozens of surveys - AI can’t replicate this!
  • Influencer marketing: Develop and activate key relationships that can help us gain access, trust and preference amongst key agency and SaaS communities
  • Brand management: Oversee creative development (in collaboration with our designers on the Product team), brand voice/tone, and ensure consistent execution of a compelling and differentiated brand across channels and teams
  • Mentorship: Lead and coach a dispersed team of 4 (including a videographer), plus a small roster of freelance writers

Skills You'll Need to Bring

  • Roughly 8+ years of hands-on experience building world-class content marketing engines that drive business results
  • You are a compelling storyteller and creator at heart, who knows how to harness this power to open hearts, minds and wallets in a B2B world
  • You deeply understand (and use) data to make better decisions and improve performance, and have a knack for making complex/technical topics accessible while teaching others (after all, we're an analytics platform!)
  • You equally embrace being an individual contributor as well as a people manager - we are a small(ish) team with low ego, where everyone rolls up their sleeves to get it done
  • You are very comfortable with using AI and tech to speed up workflows and productivity, even while your bar remains high for producing value-adding, remarkable content
  • You're a real people-person who loves talking to prospects/users, understanding their needs, and helping them succeed, regardless of where they are in the “funnel”
  • You're a strong, proactive communicator with great process development and project management skills
  • - essential since we're a distributed team that spans the globe
  • You have hands-on experience designing surveys, producing podcasts, videos and webinars.
