LOCATION
Fulltime position at the Rescue Mission, within the Marketing Division.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, business, marketing, or a related field preferred; 3+ years of relevant experience; valid NYS Driver’s License; experience with technology, analytics tools, budget management, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the management of six annual fundraising events; oversee the Events and Community Engagement team; develop and execute digital marketing strategies; collaborate with teams on marketing assets; monitor revenue sources and trends; assist in budgeting and maintain vendor relationships; coordinate with the Development team; and represent the organization at events.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Rescue Mission is seeking a Director of Events and Community Engagement to manage fundraising events and community engagement initiatives, build corporate partnerships, and oversee digital marketing efforts to drive awareness and revenue.
- Serve as the department lead for the Rescue Mission’s current slate of six annual fundraising events, including but not limited to the following activities: event strategy and timelines (including event targets, benchmarks, and goals), event logistics, event websites, event committees, event marketing and outreach; identifying, prospecting, and confirming corporate sponsorships, event execution, and post-event follow-ups and review, including analysis of revenue and expenses to measure success and event ROI.
- Oversee the activities of the Events and Community Engagement Manager and Volunteer Services & Community Engagement Specialist, including the cultivation and confirmation of year-round engagement activities with local businesses, corporations, and community groups to advance the needs of the Rescue Mission, including, but not limited to: in-kind donations, peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, volunteer opportunities, digital marketing, and social media outreach.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to develop creative assets needed to promote special events/campaigns.
- Monitor trends, investigate, research, and develop new sources of revenue to enhance existing events/campaigns, as well as create new opportunities for donor and community engagement.
- Use, evaluate, and provide recommendations on cloud-based software and applications to develop and monitor events, volunteers, and other third-party initiatives, including, but not limited to: DonorPerfect, VolunteerHub, Classy, CARS, NetSuite, Monday, Fanthem.
- Oversee the overall digital marketing strategy for Rescue Mission properties across all digital platforms. Tasks include, but are not limited to: web development, email marketing, social media, video production, and search engine optimization.
- Outline and execute the social media strategy for the Rescue Mission, including but not limited to: content creation, content calendars, post scheduling, ads, and analytics review.
- Outline and execute the email strategy for the Rescue Mission including but not limited to content creation, email calendar, and mailing list.
- Assist in the creation of the Events (301) budget. Responsible for maintaining budget goals by tracking revenue and expenditures. Maintain strong vendor relationships and quote jobs to specifications.
- Assist the Chief Marketing and Community Engagement Officer with the development and execution of a media communications strategy.
- Participates in professional fundraising organizations. Attends appropriate outside training sessions to improve industry knowledge.
- Closely work with members of the Development team to communicate and coordinate event participation by Rescue Mission major and prospective donors.
- Must attend Rescue Mission or other community-based events after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed for event execution, networking, and/or donor/partner preference.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the job.
- Promotes a safety-first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, business, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of related experience or equivalent exposure to a corporate environment required.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License in compliance with company driving criteria
- Demonstrated ability to use and understand technology and forms of social media.
- Experience using analytics tools to measure SEO and social media performance.
- Previous work experience in sales, marketing or a non-profit environment
- Experience with setting budgets and meeting budgetary targets
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
Pay Rate:
$58,458.40 - $70,000.00 Annually
