QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred), minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing and/or communications, higher education experience preferred, excellent writing and editing skills.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Director of Marketing is responsible for enhancing the reputation of Adrian College through effective marketing strategies and branding initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment outcomes.
Position Title: Director of Marketing
Work Schedule: Full-time; 12 months; Monday –Friday; some evening and weekend work required
Summary: The Director of Marketing has the responsibility for the general marketing and branding of the college. This position develops creative strategies and identifies and implements strategic marketing and branding initiatives to enhance the reputation of Adrian College and increase enrollment outcomes.
The successful candidate will:
- Design a strategic, goal based, data-driven marketing and communications plan in coordination with the Enrollment Management division and in alignment with the vision of the college. Drive the implementation of the plan across multiple channels, website, social media, and other digital platforms, and advertising.
- Collaborate closely with the Enrollment Management division in carrying out the needs and requirements for recruitment in accordance with the recruitment cycle of the college.
- Enhance communication and coordination among campus stakeholders.
- Manage all college-wide marketing and communication activities, especially media relations; digital communication and social media; advertising placements, including print, digital, and other formats that will ensure a cost-effective strategy to reach prospective students and other targeted constituencies.
- Utilize appropriate metrics and analytics to keep the college apprised of national marketing trends that may have an impact on the college, and report regularly on the market position of Adrian College in relation to competing institutions of higher education.
- Manage and coordinate all writing, photography, editing and other activities that directly support the development, production and distribution of the college’s marketing and communication products, including but not limited to press releases; and materials intended to market special events on campus.
- Effectively manage and mentor the professional marketing staff who fall under the supervision of this position.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President and/or Vice President for Enrollment Management.

- Superb writing and editing competency.

Minimum Requirements:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the marketing and/or communications field. Higher education experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, goal driven environment.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings.
- Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively when faced with frequent interruptions and will be able to establish priorities, work independently, multi-task and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.
