SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Director of Marketing at Cibao Meats will lead branding and marketing initiatives to enhance market presence and drive product demand while understanding cultural nuances and community preferences.

As the Director of Marketing at Cibao Meats, you will spearhead the dynamic establishment of our company’s profile, products, and branding across all visible spectrums, ignite demand for both existing and new products, and craft innovative strategies to elevate our brand awareness.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE FIRST 12 MONTHS MAY INCLUDE:
- Within the first 60 days:
- Schedule meetings, lunches, one-on-ones, etc. to get to know executive leadership, sales, shipping
and production department leadership to best understand current operations & structure.
- Partner daily with Marketing team members (2) to understand their roles, impact and how to best partner with them.
- Conduct initial market research to understand the competitive landscape, presenting findings that highlight gaps and opportunities for strategic enhancement and competitive advantage.
- Begin to craft a comprehensive marketing playbook to enhance brand awareness and
increase market penetration and presents for final review, refinement, and approval.
- 3 months and ongoing:
- Develops advertising and marketing campaigns to boost sales and market share by 12-15%
while identifying new market opportunities and target audiences.
- Meets with the President regularly to receive guidance on product development strategy,
focusing on expanding meat products into other regions along with Co Packed opportunities.
- Begin to build out an in-house demonstration department, presenting team structure, including
headcount, positions needed, estimated budget and timing to be approved.
- 6 months and ongoing:
- Begin executing strategies to enter new markets/segments, focusing on market research,
product positioning, and tailored marketing campaigns. Reports on progress monthly with
outlined strategies and plans based on results and learnings.
- Work closely with the R&D, Production and Sales teams to identify and capitalize on
opportunities for new product lines, aligning market trends and consumer preferences.
- Develop compelling narratives that resonate with both Hispanic and broader markets, to
authentically connect with diverse audiences, aligning with cultural nuances & market dynamics.
- 12 months and ongoing:
- Aims to achieve substantial growth in sales and market share by 7-10% through strategic
initiatives focused on expanding market presence and optimizing operational efficiencies.
- Develops a long-term marketing playbook aligned closely with the company’s strategic goals,
setting ambitious yet achievable targets for the next 2-3 years to drive sustainable growth,
market expansion, and brand differentiation.
- Demonstrates growth and success across all KPIs including new sales leads, heightened brand
awareness and market share, increased sales revenue and profitability, expansion into new
markets and customer segments, and the successful adoption of new products.
Background/experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a marketing department within the food industry working on different products required
- Experience in brand marketing with a working understanding of the types of demographic & psychographic research to create advertising, marketing & communication strategies required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business required
Technical knowledge of communications, brand management, food or beverage marketing, partnerships, social media, and influencer marketing required
In-depth knowledge of consumer behavior & digital marketing strategy/best practices required
- Proven work experience with having strong collaboration and influencing ability to build consensus, and proven success presenting plans and their implementation required
- Aptitude and demonstrated experience tracking, analyzing and synthesizing relevant
consumer, market, category and brand-specific insights to drive marketing strategies and incremental growth required
- Demonstrated marketing leadership, digital marketing, & brand management success in the food industry required
- Strategic thinking with a focus on the customer experience and understanding of customer needs, product, and competitive landscape required
- Proven communication skills with the ability to influence & engage a wide range of individuals required
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to inspire others and build strong relationships required
- Skilled at working with creative teams and managing digital agencies to produce compelling results required
- Bilingual in Spanish & strong foundation in Latin American foods and culture highly preferred
- Experience in a family-owned company is a plus
