SHORT DESCRIPTION

Seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing, Communications, and Events to support the accreditation work of ACEN through effective marketing strategies, communication initiatives, and event coordination.

Position Overview
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Marketing, Communications and Events to oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all marketing, communications, and event activities that support ACEN’s accreditation work. This position will work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors to create and deliver compelling messaging and events that align with ACEN’s strategic goals. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting small to mid-size organizations and thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Candidates must have supervisory and vendor relationship experience.

Responsibilities

The Director, Marketing, Communications, and Events (MCE) is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of all marketing, communications, and event activities that support ACEN’s accreditation work. Marketing and communications include but are not limited to the ACEN website, social media, webinars, newsletters, and press releases. Events include but are not limited to live workshops, digital engagements, and board/stakeholder meetings. The Director, MCE is responsible for ensuring that marketing and communications are aligned with ACEN’s strategic plan, brand identity, value proposition, and target audience, and that all deliver clear, consistent, and compelling messages that drive awareness and engagement. The Director, MCE maintains expertise with emerging trends in the marketing, communications and events industries, and functions as an internal expert within the ACEN. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, MCE is responsible for managing support staff and external vendors to achieve organizational goals. The Director, MCE has budgetary responsibility for the respective functional areas.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Implement marketing strategies and plans for the ACEN after development.
  • Periodically conduct market research and analysis to identify customer trends, demand, and competitors.
  • Manage the marketing budget across different platforms and channels.
  • Develop promotional events and campaigns to generate awareness and leads.
  • Communicate the marketing plan and goals to the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of marketing and communications campaigns and strategies.

Communication Responsibilities:

  • Generate a multi-channel communications strategy.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of all communications material.
  • Develop a brand voice maintaining its integrity across all platforms.
  • Oversee the creation of digital, video, audio and print content.

Event Responsibilities:

  • Develop an event management plan for the coordination and training of individuals that are needed in the organization/planning and execution of any event to include but not limited to in-person events, digital events, and Board/stakeholder meetings.
  • Function as the onsite representative of the event at hand when dealing with outside entities which may include the sponsors of the event and media platforms that would like to cover the proceedings of the event.
  • Develop policies that would serve as a guideline for the proper execution of the event.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Marketing & Communications Specialist
  • Oversee the hiring and management of staff to ensure that they have the skills and resources necessary to successfully complete their work.
  • Cultivate vendor relationships to include evaluating performance of vendor services.
  • Collaborate across the different functional areas of the ACEN to ensure all stakeholders are involved, engaged, and have input into final decisions.
  • Participate in ACEN-sponsored events and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in marketing or related field; graduate degree preferred;
  • 5+ years of related experience in marketing, communications and/or event planning;
  • Minimum 2 years in a Director role;
  • Ability to work proficiently in events management software
  • Working knowledge of social media and email marketing software
  • Comfortable with web-based project management tools and collaboration software such as Canva, iContact, Salesforce and Cvent;
  • Experience using research methods to inform strategic marketing and events decisions
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Excellent/Advanced Excel and database management skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work independently;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
