Tumbler is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead customer acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts using performance marketing strategies to maximize growth and revenue in a competitive e-commerce landscape.
Summary:
Tumbler is looking for a world-class Director of Marketing to lead our customer acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts in a competitive e-commerce landscape. This role is leveraging paid and social media, conversion optimization, and lifecycle marketing to maximize growth and revenue.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical leader with expertise in social media, paid media, performance marketing, retention strategies, and e-commerce growth metrics. This role does not include responsibilities for brand identity, messaging, or overall brand positioning, as these functions are managed separately within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Social Media & Influencer Performance
- Oversee paid social media campaigns to drive acquisition and optimize cost-efficiency
- Manage performance-based influencer partnerships, ensuring measurable ROI from collaborations
- Collaborate with the content and creative teams to develop high-converting ad assets

Marketing Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement a data-driven, performance-first marketing strategy to drive customer acquisition and maximize ROI
- Own and optimize marketing KPIs, including customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), and conversion rate optimization (CRO)
- Stay ahead of digital marketing trends, emerging growth tactics, and competitive strategies

Performance Marketing & Acquisition
- Lead all paid media efforts, including Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, affiliate marketing, and programmatic advertising
- Optimize ad spend across channels using A/B testing, audience segmentation, and retargeting strategies
- Work closely with the analytics team to monitor and improve marketing attribution models, LTV, and CAC

Retention & Lifecycle Marketing
- Develop and execute email, SMS, and loyalty-based retention strategies to maximize lifetime value (LTV)
- Implement subscription and repeat purchase initiatives to improve customer retention rates
- Continuously test and refine customer engagement strategies based on data-driven insights

Collaboration & Execution
- Work cross-functionally with product, sales, and customer support to align paid efforts with revenue goals
- Manage relationships with external agencies, media buyers, and vendors to optimize acquisition efforts

Budget & Reporting
- Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet growth objectives
- Regularly report on campaign effectiveness, making strategic adjustments as needed
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in digital and performance marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in e-commerce
- Proven expertise in paid media strategy, CAC optimization, ROAS improvement, and LTV growth
- Deep knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, affiliate marketing, and conversion rate optimization
- Experience with A/B testing, marketing attribution modeling, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Triple Whale, Northbeam, etc.)
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Experience with marketing automation and retention tools (e.g., Klaviyo, Postscript, Attentive)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
