About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Director of Portal Monetization to oversee and optimize the revenue potential of our online portals and branded websites. In this leadership role, you will develop and execute strategies to drive engagement, advertising revenue, and other monetization streams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of digital monetization strategies, content marketing, and audience analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monetization Strategy:

  • Design and implement strategies to maximize revenue through digital content and advertising.

  • Identify new monetization opportunities, including premium content offerings, sponsorships, and partnerships.

2. Portal Revenue Growth:

  • Oversee the monetization strategy for company portals, ensuring alignment with audience needs and business objectives.

  • Develop revenue-driving initiatives such as ad placements, affiliate marketing, and partnerships.

3. Performance Optimization:

  • Analyze user behavior, engagement metrics, and conversion funnels to identify areas for revenue optimization.

  • Collaborate with product and UX teams to implement improvements that drive engagement and monetization.

4. Content Strategy Development:

  • Develop a calendar of premium content and campaigns designed to drive subscriptions and user retention.

5. Partnerships & Advertising:

  • Build relationships with advertisers, sponsors, and partners to drive ad revenue.

  • Manage advertising inventory and ensure optimal utilization to meet revenue targets.

6. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of affiliate managers.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and performance excellence.

7. Data-Driven Insights:

  • Use analytics tools to track and report on monetization performance, identifying actionable insights to refine strategies.

  • Present performance reports and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

8. Industry Trends & Compliance:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to keep the business ahead of the curve.

  • Ensure compliance with digital advertising and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in digital content monetization, portal management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through content and portal strategies.

  • Expertise in digital advertising platforms, affiliate marketing, and subscription models.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in tools like Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Exceptional project management and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with paywalls, subscription models, and premium content offerings.

  • Deep experience in the affiliate marketing ecosystem

  • Familiarity with SEO and content marketing best practices.

  • Knowledge of programmatic advertising and ad-serving platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager).

  • Experience with video monetization strategies, including OTT and streaming platforms.
