QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required, 5+ years of experience in product management, excellent coaching and interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, experience in educational publishing preferred, and understanding of mathematical education is a plus.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Director of Product Management responsible for managing print and digital products, guiding development, mentoring teams, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance educational materials at Big Ideas Learning.
The Director of Product Management manages print and digital products throughout the products lifecycle. This includes developing storyboards and prototypes, specifying product configuration, approving internal and external product communications, guiding cross functional product development, collaborating cross functionally, and mentoring/coaching the product management team.
As a Director of Product Management at Big Ideas Learning You Will:
- Own products from conception to retirement

Product Planning
- Collaborate with the VP, Product to set the product roadmap for the product portfolio
- Collaborate with the VP, Product to create publication plans and program strategies.
- Analyzing market trends and customer feedback for opportunities to improve existing and future products
- Works with Product Managers to develop product storyboards and prototypes.
- Approve product communications internally and externally.
- Guide cross-functional product development to all internal teams.
- Accountable for Digital Experience (Platform) priority planning and program increment planning.
- Mentor and coach product management team.
- Collaborate with product marketing and customer success
- Communicate goals, philosophy, and rationale to internal development teams.
- Inform, oversee, and guide cross-departmental teams about product guidelines and specifications.
- Communicate evidence of goals, philosophy, and rationale to internal stakeholders.
- Explain key attributes and philosophies of program to sales/marketing teams.
- Provide guidance about project schedules, resource needs and staffing.

Outreach
- Establish and maintain advisory groups.
- Coordinate with product marketing on pre-development market tests and evaluation.
- Collaborate with product marketing to ensure marketing collateral reflects program content, goals, and philosophies.
- Attend and/or present at BIL and NGL sales training.
- Mentor product managers to lead cross-departmental teams by influencing.
- Create and maintain budget and projection for your position, your direct reports, and your vendors.
- Attending professional conferences.
- Stay informed regarding developments in education.
- Provide key stakeholders with project status updates.
- Maintain communications with all employees about department plans and status.
- Provide customer support as appropriate and as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

A Qualified Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 5+ years of related work experience required; must have experience managing a team.
- Excellent coaching, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience within educational publishing preferred.
- Understanding of mathematical education preferred.
- Product management related certification preferred.
