Refuel Agency is seeking an experienced Account Director to oversee a team and manage complex media campaigns, ensuring client retention and revenue growth through strategic digital and traditional media programs.

Job Summary:

Refuel Agency seeks an experienced media agency leader for the firm’s top Account Director role, overseeing a team of Account Directors and Account Managers. This player-coach position is responsible for maintaining and growing both Brand and Agency billing and profitability. You will partner with internal/external teams and stakeholders to ensure overall campaign performance and client satisfaction by successfully executing and managing complex digital + traditional media programs that result in KPI achievement and client retention.

We are looking for an experienced, innovative, respected and customer service and sales-minded Integrated Media leader with deep experience in the Digital and Social space who thrives in an evolving and fast-paced environment.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible to ensure flawless implementation, optimization, and performance expectations management for all digital and integrated media campaigns to achieve KPI’s and overall client satisfaction.
  • Maintain and grow current client advertising commitments by implementing best-in-class client services and integrated media expertise that ensures overall client ROI and overall satisfaction.
  • Create SOPs to successfully onboard new client accounts into the organization.
  • Manage, train and mentor a team of Account Directors/Managers responsible for maintaining YoY revenue and profit goals from existing and new clientele as assigned. Both domestic and global.
  • Have a deep understanding and working knowledge of digital, video, search, and social media platforms, trends.
  • Analyze relevant channels, develop budgets and flowcharts, and recommend tactical implementation and timing.
  • Gain an understanding of the client’s business and product lines and utilize that knowledge to establish credibility with client counterparts and help drive recommendations based on the business goals.
  • Responsible for ongoing development, delivery, and presentation of strategic media plans for client approval that maintain or grow current investments.
  • Grow current client investments by identifying new markets, tactics, enhancements to current campaign. Influencer marketing, along with Data and technology integration acumen is key in client growth.
  • Oversee internal team development and recruiting, onshore & offshore, to ensure top-level AMs within budget.
  • Work in collaboration with internal Planning, Creative, Adops, and Analytics teams in pulling insights out of data to better inform clients of current performance as well as provide informed recommendations to improve campaign outcomes.
  • Develop and perform monthly, quarterly and annual recap presentations to client stakeholders as required.
  • Schedule, lead and/or attend client calls/meetings to present strategies and reporting metrics while providing excellent client service support.
  • Strive to convert client transactional contracts (IO’s) into AOR retainer agreements.
  • Traffics projects internally ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
  • Coordinates or directs third party digital vendor services in collaboration with Planning team.
  • Alert Management of any significance client changes or barriers that impact budget and/or timelines

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • BS or BA required, Master’s degree a plus
  • Self-Starter that thrives in innovation
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
  • 4+ years of digital strategy/planning/execution experience required (at ad agency or media agency).
  • 4+ years of Account Management experience
  • Proven track record of client success, stakeholder management and ability to drive incremental revenue managing accounts of all revenue sizes
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication and skills
  • Must have experience with Google Marketing Suite, TTD, and other ad tech for reporting pulls and creating detailed performance reports with key insights.
  • Experience with executing campaigns in Meta Business Manager, SA360, Campaign Manager.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skills. Storytelling key learnings and the path forward.
  • Extremely thorough, analytical, and focused on details. Strong Math skills..
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently/efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong public speaking, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple projects, accounts and stakeholders
  • Utilize your expertise in marketing technology to drive impact across various business models
  • Engage in strategic problem-solving to address customer challenges
  • High-level proficiency in Asana, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Must know how to create pivot tables in Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively with flawless client–centric focus.
