Position Overview:
The Director of Ecommerce Content & UX Ops is responsible for overseeing all aspects of content deployment and user experience on maurices.com. This role involves leading a team of front-end, content developers, and UX specialists to optimize and manage the day-to-day operations of the website. The Director will collaborate closely with ecommerce leadership, analytics teams, and product teams to develop content strategies, business processes, deployment schedules, and best practices for the site. They will play a key role in the strategic leadership of maurices.com, driving improvements in business user tools, site experiences, and leading testing programs. A data-driven mindset and a focus on enhancing the customer experience are essential for this role.
Performance requirements
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead with a digital-first approach in a traditional brick-and-mortar retail environment, emphasizing data-driven decision-making.
- Define and implement comprehensive, testable digital strategies to ensure the continued growth and success of maurices.com.
- Spearhead and implement personalization strategies on maurices.com based on customer behaviors, actions, and segmentation with analytic team and vendor partners.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively communicating priorities to both management and team members.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to understand performance metrics and use data to enhance user experiences.
- Create wireframes and user flows to communicate vision to various stakeholders.
- Direct the UI & UX of digital experiences, working with both internal teams and cross-departmental partners.
- Maintain and optimize the information architecture of digital site experiences, ensuring proper integration with analytics.
- Manage relationships with digital partners in creative, marketing, stores, and third parties.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
- Utilize web data to identify potential improvements and new functionalities for digital properties.
- Demonstrate expertise in digital marketing strategies, sharing best practices and alignment opportunities across the organization.
- Own and optimize digital business user content tools and processes.
- Manage vendor relationships and build strong partnerships to support digital initiatives.
- Closely manage, maintain, and bolster relationships with digital partners in creative, marketing, stores, and third parties.
- Oversee e-commerce content vendors, including their onboarding and intake, serving as the business analyst to direct integration with the vendor, managing/sharing their development roadmap, and overall governance, including contracts and statements of work (SOW), of the vendor relationship.
- Support with ecommerce budget and vendor selection process, ensuring alignment with business goals and financial targets.
- Stay current on industry trends, new-to-market vendors, and digital commerce platform capabilities.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of web developers and designers, providing frequent feedback on performance, design, and usability.
- Foster innovation and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance to the e-commerce team, staying abreast of digital trends and industry developments.
Work Experience and education requirements
Education: Associate or BA degree preferred

- Bachelor’s degree required in related field
- 5+ years of digital marketing, digital product, or digital client experience
- Experience with Design Thinking, Vision and Leadership
- Success within a leading role designing innovative digital experiences
- Direct experience with web and mobile technologies

- Knowledge of core web and mobile technologies with emphasis on Content Management Systems & eCommerce Platforms
- Strong ability to evaluate design & creative execution and extensive understanding of UI/UX principles
- Strong Strategic and Critical thinking ability to develop a “big-picture” vision and assess the role of the digital channel in context of customer and business partner needs
- Fluent in identifying and understanding emerging digital trends that are influencing consumer behavior and expectations
- Proven expertise in multi-tasking – serving multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent writing and communications skills
