The custom content and branded production arm of Shutterstock – Shutterstock Studios – has an opening for a critical role within the global organization as we continue to scale our services. The Studio is made up of best in class producers and creatives designed to execute creative excellence while delivering an exceptional client experience. The Studio produces custom video, photo, animation, 3D digital immersive experiences, VR/AR/XR & mobile games for brands, creative agencies and media companies and we’re looking for a best in class marketer to support all facets of our marketing activity.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an innovative Director of Studios & Event Production Growth to lead the marketing strategy for the Studios and Event Production Business within our Business Solutions Division. This role will focus on creating and implementing a growth-oriented marketing strategy, with an emphasis on lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention across multiple customer segments. Working closely with the Revenue Lead for the Studios and Event Production Business and cross-functional teams, including Customer Advocacy, Product Management, and Marketing Operations, this role will play a pivotal part in driving growth and ensuring the effective execution of targeted marketing initiatives.
This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs, as well as experience in B2B content and digital solutions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable developing high-impact strategies, identifying market opportunities, and working cross-functionally to bring those strategies to life.
The Day to Day:
  • Strategic Marketing Development: Define and drive the overarching marketing strategy for the Studios and Event Production Business Unit, focusing on demand generation, customer growth, and retention across diverse market segments.
  • Market & Customer Analysis: Identify opportunities for expansion and growth within the content market by analyzing industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Lead Generation & Growth Initiatives: Develop and prioritize lead generation, nurturing, and retention strategies, working in close partnership with the Revenue Lead to align marketing goals with revenue objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Marketing Operations, Customer Advocacy, and Events teams, as well as the Senior Director of Marketing and VP of Customer & Market Growth, to ensure effective execution and alignment of marketing activities with divisional goals.
  • Campaign Planning & Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of targeted marketing campaigns that support customer acquisition and engagement goals for the Studios and Event Production Business Unit.
  • Performance & Optimization: Use data analytics to measure and optimize campaign performance, leveraging insights to continuously improve and adapt strategies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary marketing representative for the Studios and Event Production Business Unit, providing regular updates and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional partners on performance, opportunities, and strategic direction.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
  • Experience: 7-12 years in B2B marketing with a focus on content, technology, or digital media solutions, including experience in lead generation, customer acquisition, and lifecycle management.
  • Strategic Vision: Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive and effective marketing strategies that drive business growth and customer retention.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM, and marketing automation systems) and a data-driven approach to campaign optimization.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration, particularly with revenue, product, and customer advocacy teams.
  • Market Insight: Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive positioning within the content solutions industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:
  • 160,000 - 185,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
