SHORT DESCRIPTION

The District Store Coordinator (Area Manager) oversees multiple self-storage locations, focusing on talent development, operational efficiency, and customer service to meet sales and revenue goals.

The District Store Coordinator (Area Manager) reports to the District Manager is responsible for finding and developing SecureSpace talent by hiring, training, and coaching team members while helping them meet regional goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections. District Store Coordinators work as an area manager and will be working directly with the store teams, providing guidance and leadership to team members with all aspects of store operations. The District Store Coordinator will work mostly in our stores, leading by example, and to help provide the highest level of customer service to SecureSpace patrons. This Coordinator position will cover stores in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas.

District Store Coordinator (Area Manager Self Storage) Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Assists in recruiting, training, coaching and disciplining store managers and assistant store managers as the lead area manager
  • Ensures operational efficiency in each store
  • Engages customers in a positive and professional manner and assists with customer retention
  • Ensures that marketing efforts are consistent across each store in the region
  • Assists with setting regional goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections
  • Coordinate budgets and marketing efforts to maximize opportunities in each store
  • Ensures that the stores under their supervision adhere to company and industry regulations
  • Ensures that all stores meet safety and cleanliness standards
  • Manages a regional budget and ensuring that each store operates within the budget
  • Monitors each store's P&L reports and key performance indicators/metrics
  • Addresses operational problems that arise
  • Act as the liaison between individual stores and regional leadership
  • Travels to store locations for training and follow up, to cover for team members' time off, or to launch and transition a new store
  • Ensures that customer service levels are consistent across stores
  • Recognizes potential maintenance issues, safety hazards and make recommendations accordingly
  • Other area manager duties as assigned

District Store Coordinator (Area Manager Self Storage) Requirements:

  • Must have three years of multi-unit management experience in storage, retail, or hospitality.
  • Experience hiring, training, managing, disciplining, and firing employees.
  • KPI management experience.
  • Store auditing experience.
  • Quantitative aptitude and experience managing budgets.
  • Leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service-oriented and approachable, with the ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of our patrons.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Travel is required for this role (up to about 50-60% of the time)
  • Some weekend work may be required, depending on the business needs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for required travel via car and/or airplane (mostly for travel within the designated area, likely the Western portion of the US).
  • Will need to move about inside the leasing office to access and operate computers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift more than 30 lbs.
