Donor Relations And Events Coordinator
LOCATION
Hybrid Office/Telecommute environment, expected onsite percentage 40%, based in Washington, District of Columbia.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree desired. Minimum six years of related experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Assist in planning and executing high-quality donor stewardship events, manage logistics and event communication, develop and manage event budgets, prepare impact reports for donors, and contribute to stewardship programs and initiatives.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Support donor relations and communications by planning events and developing materials that cultivate and steward relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Works closely with the Associate Director of Donor Relations and Communications, senior colleagues of the Academies’ development office, and Academy counterparts in planning and delivering events and experiences that support major giving, annual giving, institutional giving, and planned giving. Tracks and reports on performance metrics for quality and impact of events and stewardship activities. Actively participates in building a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
Under general supervision, incumbent provides complex administrative support for a major unit or board. The job primarily focuses on providing general administrative support for a department or director, not programmatic support. Work requires continuous use of detailed knowledge of organizational operations, procedures, and staff. May establish processes/procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of routine support functions. Leads and mentors support and temporary employees.
- Assists in designing and delivering high-quality events for the stewardship and cultivation of donors and stakeholders. Assists in creating engaging and inspiring experiences and communications surrounding donor events. Assists with management of full-cycle event planning process including but not limited to site/vendor selection and contracting, logistics and on-site/virtual organization, communications, production and delivery of event marketing and execution of donor and stewardship events. Assists in developing high-quality written communications, invitations, event briefs, talking points, and program agendas and assists in speaker selection, recruitment, and coordination for events. Assists in developing and managing event budgets, including preparation, maintenance, and reporting of event budgets. Oversees tracking and reporting on performance metrics for quality and impact of event activities. Delivers events that meet the needs of the development program for each Academy and the organization as a whole including annual Academy events and leadership events with donors.
- Assists in preparing impact reports for Academy donors, which includes tracking and outreach to various offices. Contributes to managing the stewardship of major donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations, with excellent written and creative content. Supports the evaluation of current stewardship programs and the creation of new stewardship offers and initiatives. Contributes to planning and establishing donor recognition initiatives and programs.
