Tracey Road Equipment is seeking a full-time E-Commerce Manager to develop and manage online sales strategies, enhance the customer experience, and lead the e-commerce team at the Syracuse facility.

Tracey Road Equipment is hiring an on-site, full-time, E-Commerce Manager for the Syracuse facility.

The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s online sales and marketing strategies. This role involves overseeing the company’s online presence, optimizing e-commerce platforms, driving online sales growth, and enhancing the overall customer experience. The E-Commerce Manager collaborates with various departments to ensure seamless integration between online and offline operations and directly oversees the E-Commerce team.

Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute the e-commerce strategy to drive online sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in online sales channels.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to remain competitive in the online marketplace.

Website Management:

  • Oversee the e-commerce website, ensuring it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimized for search engines (SEO).
  • Collaborate with web developers, marketing team, and designers to enhance website functionality and aesthetics.
  • Monitor website performance, analyze data, and make recommendations for improvements.

Online Sales and Marketing:

  • Develop and implement online marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media, and paid advertising, in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Optimize product listings, category pages, descriptions, and images to improve search rankings and conversion rates.
  • Manage online promotions, discounts, and special offers to attract and retain customers, in collaboration with the marketing team.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure a seamless and positive online shopping experience for customers both over the web and via phone.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.

Inventory and Order Management:

  • Coordinate with inventory and shipping & receiving to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
  • Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Monitor stock/inventory levels and work with the purchasing department to replenish inventory as needed.
  • Use the Excede system to create purchase orders, conduct returns, complete customer orders, etc.
  • Using Paragon, Excelerator, and other vendor sites to quote customers properly and promptly, checking for direct shipments.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze inventory reports, matching the online inventory with the web report to physical inventory.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to online sales and marketing efforts.
  • Prepare regular reports on e-commerce performance, including sales, traffic, conversion rates, and customer behavior.
  • Use Google Analytics and Google Merchant Center to make informed decisions and recommendations for future strategies.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with the sales, parts, marketing, IT, and logistics teams to align e-commerce efforts with overall company goals.
  • Work closely with vendors and other partners on purchase orders, product listings, warranties, etc.
  • Lead and manage e-commerce team members.
  • Provide training and support to staff on e-commerce best practices and tools.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, PPC, and social media marketing.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, e-commerce, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an E-Commerce Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the construction equipment, truck, or automotive dealership industry.
  • Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Ads, Merchant Center, etc.) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento 2, etc.).
