SHORT DESCRIPTION

Seeking a self-motivated Sales Manager to accelerate outbound sales efforts for Piqosity, a growing education tech startup focused on personalized learning and assessment.

Piqosity is a K12 education technology startup that seeks to pique every learner’s curiosity, to imbue them with the power to tackle the world's greatest challenges.

Our web app is an integrated assessments and personalized learning platform. Students come to us to strengthen their skills in core academic subjects like math and English and prepare for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT.

We are growing rapidly. In the last year we published 10 new, e-learning courses and more than 400,000 students referenced our materials.

The Manager reports to the Founder and will take a leading role in accelerating our outbound sales efforts during this critical, growth period. Primary duties include:

  • Outbound sales to schools and tutoring companies
  • Outbound digital marketing
  • Inbound sales and support for individual customers

Candidate Profile and Required Skills

We seek a gregarious, self-motivated, and creative individual to help generate new sales and support current customers. Candidates must be passionate about education and have an interest in sales, marketing, technology, and publishing.

A college education and record of academic success is required. No previous experience is required.

Technically, candidates must have excellent written, oral, and computer skills. Experience with online marketing and publishing tools like Freshworks CRM, Google Analytics, and Wordpress is a plus.

Initiative, creativity, and ownership are encouraged with every duty and role.

Delegation of Authorities

The Manager’s primary responsibilities are defined within three categories:

Outbound Sales (60%)

  • Identifying, qualifying, and contacting prospective schools
  • Demoing the Piqosity app and closing the deal

Outbound Digital Marketing (25%)

  • Identifying and writing SEO-optimized blog articles
  • Writing and sending e-mail marketing campaigns

Inbound Sales and Support (15%)

  • Taking calls from individual parents and teachers
  • Answering questions and selling app subscriptions

Schedule and Compensation

The Manager should be based in Houston and plan to work out of our Rice Village. They should work normal business hours but be available to connect with clients whenever necessary.

This role commences on or before February 1, 2025.

Base salary is dependent on education and experience but will be in the range of $40k to $60k with excellent growth potential.

Commission from direct sales to schools and tutoring companies is in addition to the base salary. We expect the Manager’s revenue to exceed 6x base pay for on-target, year 1 compensation that exceeds $90,000.
