Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Education & Enrichment Coordinator
- Oversee the education and enrichment program by helping to identify areas of discovery based on consumer preferences at each service location
- Provide support in areas of program design, development, and implementation. Work with other departments to ensure that staff resources, building space, equipment and supplies align with the Education and Enrichment Programming.
- Provide staff development, training, and mentoring in Education and Enrichment Programming concepts. Coordinate internal staff development, discussion groups, and electronic learning opportunities.
- Promote disability awareness throughout the community by overseeing the development of community integration activities that are consistent with the discovery areas. Identify and develop community partnerships. Work with program staff to identify and schedule meaningful, integrated, community-based activities and volunteer opportunities that target a variety of skills.
- Maintain general understanding of the Mission and operation of the agency and its services. Represent the people we serve in a positive way by scheduling presentations and tours to promote DSI.
- Distributes programmatic marketing materials to local businesses and groups in an effort to increase public awareness of DSI’s services.
- Plan and implement donor and volunteer recognition initiatives.
- Maintain, handle intake, and tracking of scheduling and exiting of volunteers.
- Create and/or distribute marketing materials, as needed.
- Complete at least three (3) relationship-building opportunities in different outlying areas bi-monthly (county meetings, visits to facility locations, work on county activities/events, self-advocacy groups).
- Collect and maintain data/tracking by gathering input from clients on a regular basis to ensure participant outcomes are met. Work with plan coordinators to ensure individual plans are reflective of the services provided.
- Develop and implement program evaluation tools that measure quantitative and qualitative outcomes. Gather pre, during, and post- implementation data that evaluates the overall success of the Education and Enrichment Program.
- Participates in developing policies and procedures. Ensures the proper and timely implementation and compliance of established policies and procedures.
- Oversees department(s) budget, monitors expenses, and participates in generating revenues.
- Excellent and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Oversee the implementation of the Education & Enrichment Programming throughout the entire organization.
- Have own transportation to/from meetings and events in and around the entire service area.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- As a representative of DSI, you will promote and maintain appropriate internal and external disabilities awareness and public relations activities.
- Ability to work flexible, non-standard hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred with 2 years-experience in the field is preferred.
- Previous experience in programming, marketing, or working with people with disabilities desired.
- Must attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions regularly and maintain all required internal and external requirements and certifications.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
