SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Assistant will coordinate email marketing campaigns to promote Fairplex events, provide administrative support, create engaging content, and analyze campaign performance to drive revenue through effective marketing strategies.
Under General Supervision, the Marketing Assistant is responsible for coordinating email marketing campaigns that effectively promote products and services. They will provide support with the daily administrative operations of the Marketing department. Create engaging content and design visually appealing templates, while also ensuring timely delivery and monitoring campaign performance. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions in order to promote Fairplex events, attract visitors, and drive revenue through effective marketing strategies and campaigns.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement marketing plans and strategies to promote Fairplex events, attractions, and various offerings
Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to support business objectives and goals
Analyze data from the ticket sales to strategize effective campaigns
Create and manage email marketing calendars, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build email templates that are on-brand and visually appealing
Manage subscriber lists and segmentations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data
Analyze and report on email campaign performance, providing insight and recommendations for improvement
Monitor industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization
Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR
Manage relationships with email service providers and other vendors
Stay up-to-date with email marketing software and technologies, making recommendations for adoption or upgrades
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate email marketing with other marketing channels and initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager or department leadership.
1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or currently pursuing) is preferred
2. Proficient in email automation platforms e.g. Marketing Cloud
3. Experience with A/B testing and optimization
4. Familiar with email best practices (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.)
5. Experience with analytics and reporting
6. Ability to execute email campaigns from start to finish
7. Excellent project management skills
8. Highly organized and detail-oriented
9. Experience with HTML and CSS for email templates
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
11. A passion for events, fairs, and entertainment, and an understanding of the target audience
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
13. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required, especially during peak fairground seasons.
