GENERAL DUTIES

EOC IT Assistants perform entry-level professional work in technology-related disciplines at Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC). While areas of specialization vary, typically EOC IT Assistants work in areas such as development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar based on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include resolving minor technology problems, monitoring activities, and maintaining documentation. They have latitude for independent initiative and judgment, under supervision.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

An appointment to this position will be on a provisional basis. The EOC IT Assistant (Level I) Social Media Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Create consistent, meaningful content on social media platforms for the respective markets.
  • Responsible for website management and reporting.
  • Responsible for producing high-quality content
  • Apply expertise in the planning process, audience and creative strategy development, budget forecasting, and industry tracking; be a strategic thought partner in team meetings
  • Manage social campaigns and leverage first- and third-party data to build audiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate platform social campaign performance actively, leveraging insights and trends and providing data-backed recommendations to the integrated communications team.
  • Work collaboratively with the communications team, community, and legislative partners to meet and exceed stated media objectives.
  • Attend events at the center and community and provide media material for website and media posting.
  • Be passionately in tune with the evolution of market trends, digital marketing innovation, and online behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

A minimum of six months of full-time experience in a computer or technology-related position. Experience that is more than 20 hours per week and less than 35 hours per week may be counted at 50% of the requirement (i.e., two months of part time experience equal to one month full time experience)

Additional experience and/or education that can be met by ONE of the following: An additional three years and six months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; an Associate's degree plus 18 months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Demonstrated English Language proficiency

A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.

This title has three levels. To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.

  • Previous relevant work experience in social media management
  • Previous experience with website management
  • Knowledge and experience of HTML
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentational skills
  • Experience managing social media platforms and websites
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with remote team members
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with concurrent and competing deadlines
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent or post-secondary degree
  • Demonstrated English Language proficiency
  • A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State

Additional experience and/or education that meets one of the following:

  • An additional three years and six months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position.
  • An Associate's degree plus 18 months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position.

COMPENSATION

$54,851 New Hire*

$61,981 Incumbent

  • This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months.
