SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Estimator evaluates customer needs and delivers an excellent DeckPro experience by calculating manpower and material requirements while working closely with the Operations Team in a hybrid work environment.

Job Summary
The mission for the Estimator is to evaluate customer inquiries and provide a reliably excellent DeckPro experience. The Estimator understands the needs and desires of customers and develops operational plans to meet those needs, calculating the amount of manpower and material needed to achieve success. The Estimator works closely with the Operations Team, splitting time between site visits in the field and remote work in the DeckPro virtual office.

Duties

  • Professional development - Deck Safety Inspection certification, Read/Listen to books/podcasts.
  • Evaluate sales opportunities through discussions with customers, review of pictures, discussions with Field Reps.
  • Meet with prospective customers and conduct thorough onsite project assessments.
  • Become familiar with the DeckPro culture and nuances of operations.
  • Research the personnel, equipment, supplies, and materials needed for each project in order to price the opportunity and establish an operations plan.
  • Draft, review, and release proposals using the company information management system.
  • Maintain relationships with prospects, answer their questions, build trust, and close sales.
  • Serve as customer advocate in setting the operation team schedule.
  • Participate in a daily call with the Field Manager and Communication Coordinator.
  • Ensure quality work and continuous improvement by soliciting customer feedback and relaying information to the Operations Team.
  • Serve as a company representative in recruiting employees, establishing relationships with subcontractors, and interfacing with vendors.
  • Assist in the management of the online marketing efforts, including social media.
  • Participate in a weekly management team meeting, report on Sales KPIs.

  • Suggest website updates and participate in lead generation activities, including e-mail, social media, and outbound calls.
  • Utilize reports from advertising campaigns to gain insights about our customers.
  • Understand operational details that enable accurate calculations of time and material; organize site visits.
  • Participate in learning activities to develop skills, including reading books and articles.
  • Participate in ongoing strategy and planning efforts to improve business performance.
  • Make ethical and conscientious decisions that serve the best interests of the Company.
  • Conduct self-guided research to stay abreast of industry news/trends and bring ideas to discussions.
  • Demonstrate empathy for customers who need guidance from an expert.
  • Use Company resources to guide responses to questions about pricing, scheduling, logistics, and other matters.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
