Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer is seeking a dynamic Sales and Marketing Manager to enhance their events and catering program while expanding their presence in Nashville's local and tourist sectors.

Founded in Soho, New York City in 2015, Black Tap has since expanded around the world. Black Tap Nashville opened in May 2023 and has won Best Overall Burger Nashville Scene Burger Week, Best New Restaurant, Best New Bar and Best Burger Nashville Scene Reader's Choice Awards.

Role Description

We're looking for a dynamic, experienced, ambitious entrepreneur who will help develop and manage our on-and-off premise events and catering program, build relationships with area concierges and group sales directors to help expand Black Tap's presence in the Nashville local and tourist sectors. This is a great opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who excels at building relationships and event sales.

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for exceeding sales revenue goals, developing and maintaining valued guest relationships, expanding the company’s current guest base through sales and marketing, developing and maintaining professional selling skills for Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer. The Sales and Marketing Manager focus is on contacting, prospecting and meeting with clients focusing on procuring leads and booking events for social and corporate groups, cultivating new clients, preparing proposals and securing contracts for the restaurant. They are responsible for carrying out company goals and objective related to the Sales and Marketing Manager position as established by the SVP/Operations and General Manager. This is a part-time on-site role located in Nashville, TN.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare and regularly evaluate strategy and action plans for identifying prospects and generating leads.
  • Generate leads through letters, e-mail, phone calls, networking and site visits.
  • Stay up to date on events in the market and capitalizes to generate leads.
  • Maintain a tracking system of guests and leads; utilizing for continued follow up.
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of all in-venue event lifecycle stages.
  • Compile feedback from events and review with General Manager and Executive Chef to improve the guest experience.
  • Maintain proficiency in all administrative systems pertaining to Special Events (i.e. Resy, Open Table, Gather, Calendar Invites, BEO Reports).
  • Provide regular reporting to internal departments i.e. Marketing, Operations, General Manager and Human Resources.
  • Understand all aspects of service for in-venue events, off-site events and catering.
  • Assist with the planning and coordinating of special events, catering and promotions as needed such as guest events, catering orders, store openings, media/influencer meals and previews, internal company events and off-site promotional events.
  • Actively partner with Marketing to execute on-site programming with excellence.
  • Pro-Actively partner with Marketing to ensure ample content collection and other assets for amplification and PR support.
  • Abide by working hours as set by the General Manager.
  • Ensure follow through and adherence to all Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices; implement those appropriate to the business.
  • Act as an ambassador for Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer at all times.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Event Planning, Catering, Sales, and Communications preferred.
  • Strong skills in Event Management and Private Event Coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and address guest and client needs.
  • Experience in the food or hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in Event Planning, Catering, Sales, and Communications in the Broadway/Downtown Nashville, TN area with a current list of prospective clients is preferred.
