Job Description

Full-time, Non-Exempt Hourly Employee

I. Position Overview

· Responsible for the development, management, and execution of the select events and social media efforts of the association and various committee/councils in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Board of Directors and various committees/councils

· Responsible for the Master Builders’ sponsorship program

· Reports to the Communications Director

II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Knowledgeable of the association’s bylaws, policies & procedures and processes as they relate to the events and committees/councils of the association

· Secure venue and formal contract for all event locations

· Coordinate with Master Builders’ Communications Director to prepare appropriate marketing materials, create formal marketing plan, and production schedule for all events

o Events may include: Golf Classic, Remodeling Excellence Awards, Tour of Remodeled Homes, Seafood Fest, President’s Gala, Remodelers Council Meetings, Professional Women in Building Council Meetings, Emerging Professional Council Meetings, and more.

· Personally communicate with all prospective participants of the specific events to answer any questions they may have concerning the details of the event

· Create and maintain electronic and/or manual recording keeping systems to track event sales, participation, and other details as necessary to ensure accurate recordkeeping for the event

· Work closely with all vendors for each event to ensure they have the information they need to perform their duties and to ensure they are producing a product that meets the stated expectations

· Responsible for on-site logistics for all events including pre-event and post-event details. Requires evening and weekend work as necessary to ensure the success of the event. Coordinates décor and other event logistics with corresponding committee members

· Coordinate agenda / minutes / registration for monthly meetings and events. Responsible for scheduling special speakers for various events

· Create a budget for each event based on committee direction

· Serve as social media staff, managing the Association’s social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)

· Prepare articles for the Dimensions Newsletter regarding association events and programs

· Provide staff support to Remodelers Council, Emerging Professionals Council, Professional Women in Building Council, and other committees as may be assigned by the Executive Officer

· Responsible for managing and staffing the Sponsorship Program. Meets with committees to help identify and secure sponsorships. Sends invoices out and works with members to secure timely sponsorship payments. Ensures that customers receive benefits associated with their sponsorship. Secures logos for all sponsors

· Assists with answering phones when needed

· Regularly lift 5-10 pounds

· Excellent written, communication and organizational skills required. Position requires the ability to communicate professionally with membership and other members of the public.

· Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Officer

III. Reporting

· Supervision of this position shall be the responsibility of the Communications Director and the annual performance evaluation shall be done by the Executive Officer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
