LOCATION
Onsite at company headquarters in Decatur, Michigan. Travel to event locations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field; strong organizational skills, excellent communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience in event planning preferred.

Position Summary:
The Events Intern will work with our marketing team to plan and execute corporate events, trade shows, factory tours, and meetings, participating in all aspects of event coordination. Our marketing team plays a critical role in organizing high-impact events and trade shows that showcase our products and strengthen relationships with architects, sales representatives, and our industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize onsite visits, including factory tours, training sessions, meals, lodging, and offsite social events for architects, sales reps, and customers.
- Collaborate on planning quarterly sales rep advisory council meetings, including meeting space setup, meals, lodging, and activities.
- Support the planning of internal company events, such as board meetings and company picnics.
- Assist with scheduling and logistics for events hosted at our training center, conference rooms, or offsite facilities.
- Coordinate accommodations, catering, and transportation for events.
- Assist in planning and executing national trade shows, including coordinating product displays, and coordinating logistics.
- Support regional trade shows by providing materials, coordinating with sales reps, and tracking event needs.
- Assists with execution of events as needed including set-up and tear-down, food delivery.
- Capture and organize event-related media, such as photos and videos, for marketing purposes.
- Research trends and best practices in corporate events and recommend ideas to enhance the attendee experience.
- Assist in developing event reports to evaluate success and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), space planning, and event management tools.
- Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with event planning, logistics, or hospitality is preferred.
Internship Details:
- Location: Based onsite at our company headquarters in Decatur, Michigan.
- Travel: Travel to event locations as needed and manufacturing facility in Benton Harbor.
- Duration: Summer 2025 (March–October; specific dates flexible to accommodate school schedules and hour requirements).
- Hours: 40 hours per week, hours outside of business hours as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50-pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally subject to loud noise.
Work Environment:
- Safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required on the production floor at all times.
- Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
- Frequently subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals.
- Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.
- Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and/or humid shop conditions.
