LOCATION
Reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, within the SCC community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field; at least 1 year of office experience; strong attention to detail and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support alumni engagement, fundraising campaigns, administrative tasks, event coordination, and marketing initiatives. Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance engagement strategies and manage databases and metrics.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Operations Manager assists in achieving goals for the SCC Foundation through administrative support, event planning, and enhancing alumni engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an office setting.
- Ability to work independently. Strict attention to detail. High ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable high-level oral and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in social media content development and management.
Preferred:
- Fundraising experience.
- Alumni Affairs experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Alumni Engagement: Develop and sustain strong relationships with alumni. This includes tracking and analyzing alumni engagement metrics, generating comprehensive reports to inform strategies, and enhancing participation.
- Confidentiality and Compliance: Adhere to privacy regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all records in accordance with college policies.
- Meeting Management: Help organize the Foundation Board Meeting schedule and secure appropriate venues for meetings.
- Fundraising Assistance: Support fundraising through annual fund drives, planned giving, major gift campaigns, endowment development, special events, and business partnerships.
- Fund Distribution: Coordinate the allocation of Foundation funds for student scholarships, faculty and staff awards, grants, and any other means, ensuring alignment with the College's mission.
- Communication Skills: Strong communications, research, creative and writing skills.
OTHER DUTIES
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks to aid the Foundation's fundraising goals, scholarship programs, and various initiatives. Provide similar support to the division’s departments of Student Life, Marketing & Outreach, and Media Services.
- Project Management: Oversee all incoming tickets for Marketing & Outreach and Media Services.
- Social Media: Assist the department's digital marketing & graphic design specialist with managing social media platforms, including content scheduling, messaging, analytics monitoring, and addressing online reputational concerns, while staying updated on digital marketing trends and best practices.
- Digital Marketing: Serve on the webmaster team, responding to content update requests.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Assist in planning and organizing fundraising campaigns and events targeting all sectors of the service area.
- Committee Participation: Serve on institutional committees as assigned.
- Professional Development: Engage in activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge.
- Alumni Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to connect and engage with college alumni, including but not limited to program graduations, loyalty programs, and events. Methods of engagement are to include surveys, websites, social media, email, face-to-face interactions and telephone communications.
- Event Coordination: Organize alumni and retiree events, such as reunions, networking opportunities, and volunteer activities under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation/Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- Communication Management: Create alumni and Foundation communications, including news releases, quarterly newsletters, weekly social media, and monthly email campaigns, in collaboration with the Marketing and Outreach department and the Executive Director of the Foundation/Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments or organizations to enhance alumni engagement opportunities and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research to understand alumni demographics and interests, using the data to inform engagement strategies.
- Database Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni and donor contact databases, ensuring data security and compliance with privacy laws.
- Metrics and Reporting: Measure and report on alumni engagement efforts monthly, using metrics such as event attendance, communication response rates, and donations, to continually monitor and improve strategies.
- Report Preparation: Assist the Executive Director of the Foundation/Vice President of Institutional Advancement in preparing reports as requested.
- Strategic Implementation: Aid the Executive Director of the Foundation in implementing strategies to achieve sustained fundraising growth.
- Marketing and Resource Development: Support the Executive Director of the Foundation/Vice President of Institutional Advancement in developing and implementing marketing and resource development plans.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including donor constituents.
- Interpersonal Interaction: Cooperate, courteously, and professionally engage with students, donors, the public, the community, and co-workers.
- Communicating Goals: Assist in communicating the goals and needs of the College through its strategic plan and the Foundation.
- College Promotion: Participate in activities promoting the College, the Foundation, and their programs and achievements.
- Event Assistance: Support the Institutional Advancement division with events, including alumni activities, annual fundraising activities, and community outreach (which may include some nights and weekends).
- Hospitality Events: Plan and execute on-campus hospitality events to engage employees and enhance overall employee satisfaction.
- Community Engagement: Help plan and execute annual community-wide events to engage and build relations with residents of Stanly County and surrounding areas.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Foundation/Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
