Job Summary:
The General Manager at Coopershill oversees all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring that every guest experiences exceptional service and quality. This role involves managing both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, financial performance, and overall operational efficiency. The General Manager is a key leader responsible for driving revenue growth, fostering a positive team culture, and maintaining Coopershill’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Oversee all daily operations, including dining, bar, and kitchen activities, to ensure efficiency, quality, and smooth service flow.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead the FOH and BOH management teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance reviews. Provide mentorship and guidance to foster a positive work environment.
- Customer Experience: Ensure every guest has a memorable experience by maintaining high standards for customer service. Address guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Financial Management: Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and profitability. Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Inventory & Ordering: Oversee inventory management for both the bar and kitchen, ensuring proper stock levels, minimizing waste, and controlling costs.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the restaurant complies with all health, safety, and food handling regulations. Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef and Bar Manager to create and update menus, seasonal offerings, and promotions that align with Coopershill’s brand.
- Marketing & Promotions: Work with ownership or marketing teams to develop and execute promotions, events, and social media strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Event Planning: Coordinate private events, promotions, and special occasions, ensuring smooth execution and guest satisfaction.
- Problem-Solving: Address operational challenges, including staffing issues, supply shortages, or equipment malfunctions, and implement solutions efficiently.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on restaurant performance, including financial data, guest feedback, and staff updates, to ownership.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a management role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a casual dining or pub environment.
- Proven track record of leading teams and achieving financial targets.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including FOH and BOH processes.
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Certifications: Food handler’s certification and alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe) preferred.
- Personality: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality. A strong problem-solver with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.
