Job Description
Purpose:
Drive and lead the development and execution of AbbVie’s oncology international brand strategies at the International, Area, and Affiliate (country) levels for the assigned therapeutic area/brand or indication(s). Champion cross-functional initiatives to ensure that marketing strategies are actionable, effectively communicated, and clinically validated across all of AbbVie’s international markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Financial Planning and Strategy: Direct financial planning and lifecycle management for assets, and spearhead Therapeutic Area strategies to optimize market performance.
- Create Impactful Promotional Materials: Guide the production of high-impact promotional materials that align with and propel strategic objectives.
- Build Collaborative Relationships: Foster and maintain dynamic collaborations with teams across creative services, medical/regulatory, commercial analysis, product planning, operations, Managed Health Care, and international brand teams to enhance information flow and support strategic initiatives.
- Communicate Vision and Strategies: Inspire the marketing team with a clear articulation of product vision and strategies and ensure the effective oversight of promotional material development and implementation.
- Evaluate and Optimize Tactics: Continuously assess promotional tactics for effectiveness (impact/share) and efficiency (expense management), leveraging insights to refine and drive campaigns forward.
- Cultivate a Trustworthy Environment: Forge a productive work environment characterized by trust and mutual respect within the franchise.
- Develop and Empower High-Performance Teams: Build, mentor, and empower high-performance teams by promoting an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives, fosters team engagement, and encourages innovation.
- Exhibit Inclusive Leadership: Demonstrate leadership that embraces diversity and inclusion, leveraging the unique strengths of each team member to drive collective success.
- Develop Talent: Identify and nurture talent within the team by providing coaching, training opportunities, and career development pathways to enhance skills and prepare individuals for future leadership roles.
- Influence Strategic Decisions: Impact strategic priorities through influential participation in senior cross-functional governance.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Industry Experience: At least ten years of progressive experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with 5 years of Oncology experience. Ovarian cancer experience preferred.
- Marketing Expertise: Proven track record in developing product marketing strategies and positions, with prior experience as a Marketing Director in a highly competitive market. Specialty marketing experience is preferred.
